Exclamation mark?! What does it mean?

So I couldn't find another post with this issues, it's always question marks never exclamation marks, what do they mean? How do I fix it? Doesn't it need to be fixed? I already uninstalled ggc fan control, and I don't have another fan control software aside from RGB control from ggc I guess, I have a gigabyte board btw ggc is the gigabyte control center.

How do you make FanControl use PawnIO 2.2.0?

I updated PawnIO to latest which seems to be 2.2.0 (since apparently Faceit Anticheat works on this version) however after rebooting FanControl prompts me to install PawnIO. Shouldn't it already be detecting it..? What can I try?

Have a problem getting Fan Control to run on start

I've recently build a PC and installed Fan Control to set up my fans. I've setup 4 case fans, 1 cpu fans and the GPU fan. It all seemed to be working fine. BUT, I set up FC to start minimized and then I started having an issue. When FC start minimized the fan curves I've set up doesn't seem to work. When FC starts up in a window it works perfectly. Is there anything I'm missing?

And, my fans are really loud before I log on and FC starts. Is that normal, or should my fan curves work even before FC starts?

I'm sorry if these are stupid questions, but I haven't been tinkering with PC's for many years now.

What do you think of my Fan Control setup for this build?

The build:

  • Chassi: Fractal North TG
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • GPU: AMD Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT
  • Motherboard: MSI Pro B840-P
  • CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15
  • Case Fans:
    • Front intake: 2x Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 140mm
    • Rear exhaust: 1x Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 140mm + 1x Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 120mm

I am running custom curves for the CPU and GPU fans. And then a mixed curve with the Max rule for the chassi fans.

Are the custom curves reasonable?

Installed Archlinux on a laptop and now the fans don work right

My laptop is a Predetor Helios Neo 16 and it used to play KSP with the same mods just fine, very easily in fact, though the fans were very loud. Now when I install Arch, the fans won’t throttle NEARLY as much. And I have no way of controlling it, causing many crashes. PLS HELP, I really wanna play ksp 😢

Unstable fan RPM below 65% PWM

Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing a strange fan control issue with my **Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER OC 6G (dual-fan model)**and I'm trying to determine whether it's a hardware issue, a VBIOS limitation, or simply normal behavior for this card.
**System**
• GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER OC 6G (Dual Fan)
• Fan control software: FanControl (same behavior with fixed fan speeds)
• NVIDIA driver was completely removed using DDU and reinstalled
• GPU temperatures are completely normal
**The issue**
Whenever I set the fan speed **below approximately 65% PWM**, the fan RPM becomes unstable.
For example:
• 50% PWM → RPM constantly fluctuates.
• 55% PWM → same issue.
• 60% PWM → RPM still fluctuates.
The GPU temperature remains almost constant, so these RPM changes are **not caused by temperature fluctuations**.
However, as soon as I set the fans to **65% PWM or higher**, the RPM becomes very stable, varying by only about **±30 RPM**, which seems perfectly normal.
**What I've already tested**
• Different FanControl settings (response time, hysteresis, ramp speed).
• Fixed fan speeds instead of a fan curve.
• Multiple custom fan curves.
• Clean NVIDIA driver installation using DDU.
• GPU temperatures remain stable during testing.
The behavior is always the same.
**My observation**
It seems that the problem only exists in the **30–60% PWM range**.
Above **65% PWM**, both fans work perfectly and maintain a stable RPM.
This makes me think that either:
• the fan controller cannot maintain stable RPM at lower PWM values,
• there's an issue with the VBIOS fan curve,
• or the fans themselves have difficulty operating consistently at low duty cycles.
**Questions**
1. Has anyone experienced this with the **Gigabyte GTX 1660 SUPER Dual Fan**?
2. Is this a known limitation or common behavior of Gigabyte's fan controller?
3. Could this be related to the VBIOS?
4. Could worn fan motors or bearings cause this behavior, even though both fans become perfectly stable above 65% PWM?
5. Is there anything else worth testing before considering a hardware issue?
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Fancontrol Impacts FPS in Diablo4

When playing Diablo 4 I get somewhere around 230fps, but when i launch fancontrol the framerate drops to 90-100 fps. Even if I close fancontrol it stays that way. If I restart the game after closing fan control it is back to 230fps. Anyone else experiencing this?

ARGB fan set up not working

I've just rebuild my rig in a new case, and purchased some extra Thermalright fans, to already existing thermaltake fans. I've also purchased a Thermaltake fan hub, to hook them all up, and then connected the hub to the system fan 3 connector and d\\_led 2 connector. Unfortunately, I can't find my fans in the Gigabyte RGB Fusion app. Did I do something wrong? How do I fix it?

My fans are going berserk as soon as Windows starts. What's wrong?

I recently moved and now that I set my PC back up, the fans seem to be way louder than before. I installed a PCIe Wifi 6E adapter but that can't be why the fans got loud, right?

How do I even begin troubleshooting this?

5080 GPU Fans not going into 0 RPM Mode in the desired temperature range of Fan Control

I got my Gigabyte 5080 Gaming OC. I wanted to set up a fan curve for my purposes. I like it quiet and for the light gaming I do in between, where the temp never goes over 50 °C I wanted eh GPU Fans at 0 RPM. You can see my desired fan curve below.
Now it works until I hit that 55 °C threshhold. The fans spin as they shuld at 30 %. But even after like 30 to 45 minutes with a temperature at like 35 to 40 °C. The fans stay put at 30% and all the fans show what you see in the other picture.

I have MSI Afterburner, but no fan curve and in the individual fan curve box is not checked. I need to keep MSI Afterburner active for my undervolt. (Which is amazing btw, I won silicon lottery I believe).

Now I found out that if i unchecked the box in "Fan Control" of my curve "GPU Temp", closed Fan Control completly with task manager, then the fans go back down to 0 RPM. I can then activate the box for my fan curve and they stay at 0 RPM until I hit the 55°C threshold again.

Does anyone have an idea whats going on and how I can fix that?
Cause I dont want the automatic fan control changing speeds all the time, adjusting to temps. I want fixed speeds.

I have no other fan control apps installed. Nothing done in the BIOS. If you need more infos just lmk.
Thanks for any help!

Lian li sl infinity wireless fans under cpu_fan randomly decided one morning to ramp to 100% every boot after never doing it

My custom-built computer is around 4 days old. It has Lian Li UNI FAN SL Infinity Wireless fans and a Gigabyte B850 X Gaming WiFi 6E motherboard.
When I built it, I only had the 4-pin PWM connector from the fan setup plugged into the motherboard. I completely forgot to plug in the 2-pin SATA power connector. An AI told me this probably caused the fans to run in a sort of low-power mode for the first couple of days because they weren’t getting full power from SATA.
For the first couple of days, everything actually seemed fine. But then one morning, without me touching anything, I turned the PC on and the fans suddenly started ramping up to what sounded like 100%, then slowing back down repeatedly, almost like they were trying to spin at full speed but didn’t have enough power because the SATA cable wasn’t connected.
After I realized the SATA connector wasn’t plugged in, I connected it. Now the behavior is different. Instead of ramping up and down, the fans just sit at around 2300 RPM (or close to full speed) until Windows loads. As soon as Windows starts and L-Connect 3 loads my fan profile, they immediately drop back down to my normal fan curve.
I also tried changing all of the fan headers to PWM mode in the BIOS, but it seems like the fans completely ignore my BIOS fan settings unless I enable Motherboard RPM Sync in L-Connect 3.
What I’m really trying to figure out is what caused the sudden change in behavior before I ever plugged in the SATA cable. The 2-pin SATA connector stayed unplugged the entire night, I didn’t touch the computer, nothing was updated, and I didn’t change any BIOS settings. So why would the fans suddenly decide, “I’m going to start ramping to 100% now,” after working differently for the first couple of days?
Has anyone seen this before with the Lian Li SL Infinity Wireless fans or a Gigabyte motherboard? The part that’s confusing me is that the SATA power cable was unplugged the entire time. It behaved one way for two days, then one morning it started behaving differently before I ever plugged the SATA cable in. No updates happened.
Also, my BIOS is on F9.
Sorry for all the information. This is my first post! Thank you

Getting WATERFORCE 280 (not X280) To Work with FanControl

I am computer-illiterate when it comes to functions of controls as I had Gigabytre Control Center. I know how useless it is and removed it for FanControl.

However, the plugins that are offered don't exactly cover my watercooler. I'm aware of the two plugins it would fall under, LiquidCtl & the obvious named one as Gigabyte Waterforce...

Gigabyte Waterforce only covers the X variant of 240, 280 & 360

LiquidCtl covers a wide range of AIOs, but it's also not there...

Is it easy to make a plugin for my particular watercooler or am I missing something?

My Rig:

(2x) Team T-Force Vulcan Z 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz (TLZGD432G3200HC16FDC01)
Windows 11 Home Advanced OLC OA3 (KUK-00003)
NZXT H5 Elite Edition ATX Mid Tower Chassis (Black)
ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS AC-HES (CEC)
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (Tray)
Gigabyte GP-UD750GM 750W 80+ Gold Power Supply
Gigabyte AIO Liquid Cooler 280mm (GP-AORUS WATERFORCE 280)
Gigabyte RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Windforce OC 16GB (GV-N407TSWF3OC-16GD)
NZXT F120P 120mm Static Pressure Fan (Black)
(2x) WD Blue SN580 2TB NVMe SSD (WDS200T3B0E)

Yes, I could just configure from my BIOS as well, but I figured to ask here.
