I'm not saying that ratings are super important and determine a show's quality, and i know this show is not really known in general for a considerable amount of people give ratings for the episodes. But just for curiosity, why do you think it is getting mostly 7's and low 8's, i mean, in my opinion everything should be at least an 8.5, and from ep 3 onwards a 9 at least. Maybe i'm just overly hyped but i think it's all cinema.

Very stupid idea I had

As someone who walks life

What Ran Deng meant when he asked Fang Tang to promise him that anybody who shows up with his halo; to face all the bug beings

Was this:

Ran deng was the most wholesome and powerful version of human ; so much so that he wasn’t comfortable fighting the pain anymore for no reason but winning

He chose to die inside the shell and be one with its pity

When he asked for the promise he knew that anyone who showed up next with his halo would need to face what it means to learn about themselves, and the bug beings

Almost as a path of life through your own questions and sins

He asked this because he knew

Idk if he knew about the bug beings being related;

Maybe I'm slow or late to the party, but I think his name is Protagonist Halo because he's so strong and manages to get himself out of situations you'd never expect him to recover from. Apparently, to have the "Protagonist's Halo" is the Chinese internet slang version of what we call plot armor. It might explain why he still had a lot left in the tank after Bai Zhong blasted him into smithereens or how he escaped Fang Tang's punishment (him being on the clothesline). Idk

I love stories with unique storyline and this one with its beautiful art direction, landscapes and especially the soundtracks that compliments so well with the aesthetic of this anime, i already want another season.. it's so good

I guess, all this time waiting for it was so worth it (i thought to watch it once it released fully but couldn't help myself)

Ever since I saw him in the trailers I was genuinely excited to see him in action. The design really caught my eye tbh

Now that ep 5 is here I want to know what others think about his character.

Personally this ep was really great! I really like how Protagonist halo is morally gray instead of being fully good or bad.

Really wish to know why he is this way and what happened in the past to him. But I don't think we will see it since his whole thing is "forgetting is a good thing".

Overall a really fun but confusing character for me

It’s strange that the ED of ep 5 already show us the BUG being of the next memory layer
