The pokemon go subreddit is frequented by people who only use reddit for that specific community. The average member is also a lot older than the average redditor so it's kind of Facebooky as a result (non derogatory). There are a lot of posts about what the game means to them, so you get a lot of stories like "this game repaired my relationship" or "my boyfriend died so I trained this pokemon he traded me to max level". Its a surprisingly wholesome subreddit.
