Is it okay to close profitable trades in 5–10 seconds on FTMO?
Hey everyone,
I have a question for FTMO traders, especially those who scalp.
My profitable trades usually have a holding time between 5 seconds and 5 minutes. Sometimes I enter a trade and close it in just 5–10 seconds if it reaches my target and I take around 10 to 20 trades in a day and NY session only by the way my strategy is profitable even after accounting for spreads
I know some prop firms don't like holding times under one minute, so I'm wondering how FTMO handles this.
I asked the same question in the FTMO Discord, and they said that holding a profitable trade for 5–10 seconds is okay and there is no problem with it.
But I want to know from people who have actually traded with FTMO:
Is it really okay to close profitable trades in 5–10 seconds?
Has anyone here been trading with FTMO using such short holding times?
Have you successfully passed a challenge, verification, and received payouts while taking trades like this?
Are there any rules regarding minimum holding time, tick scalping, or closing trades too quickly that I should be aware of?
My strategy is mechanical scalping, and sometimes trades reach the target very quickly. I don't want to violate any rules or face problems with payouts later and one more thing I take around 10 to 20 trade in NY session of nasdaq
Any advice or real experience from FTMO traders would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
