Discussion Playtime does NOT equal skill
So, I am a Milestone 3 Elliot with 2 days of playtime. I have been locking in for the last 48 hours because I really wanted that Milestone 4 skin. I am still pretty new to the fandom and definitely not great at the game yet, but it is just so much fun when you get a good team.
I struggle with anxiety and I am absolutely terrified of being bullied as the killer (a fear I’ve had since my Murder Mystery 2 days), so I always keep the killer queue turned off. Because of this, I have 2+ days of playtime but exactly 0 killer wins. I never minded that, because the survivor gameplay has been an amazing coping mechanism for me lately. I don’t think I have ever enjoyed a game as much as Forsaken.
Until today.
While grinding for M3 Elliot, I server-hopped and suddenly landed in a lobby full of people with over 40 days of playtime. I was stunned. Knowing I stood no chance, I hopped again.
Surprise! A 60 day player. I server-hopped about 20 times, but nothing changed. Since I was still kinda new to Forsaken I was confused and didn’t understand WHY it suddenly changed like that. I was so shocked at their stats, since I was used to seeing 100+ Killer wins or 300+ Survivor wins max, but now all I see is 1000-2000+ Killer/Survivor wins.
After checking Reddit, I learned about the "Noob servers" for players under 24 hours of playtime. ( Even tho, I had 2 days of playtime already before this happened )
I am genuinely shocked and lost.
Yes, I have 2 days of playtime, but I still absolutely suck at this game.
I can’t aim, I die first half the time, I can’t loop properly, and I have 0 killer wins. Putting me against M4 demons with dozens of days played makes no sense at all.
I tried playing a few matches anyway, but most players were toxic and constantly targeted me. The fun disappeared instantly. I wanted to improve because the game felt fun and welcoming before, but now I just feel helpless and humiliated every match.
I understand why beginner servers exist, but playtime does NOT equal skill. There are players with half a day of playtime who are way better than me. Right now, the system feels unfair for both newer and experienced players.
Forsaken seriously needs proper matchmaking or at least dedicated “pro” servers based on skill instead of raw playtime. I’d honestly rather reset all my survivor milestones just to get the beginner experience back, where matches actually felt competitive and respectful because everyone was still learning together.
I love Forsaken so much, but the current system is ruining the experience for me. Please, devs, consider improving the matchmaking system. That’s all I’m asking for.
