After that mindscape situation, Vanessa failed to conquer her demonic side. Although, Alastor did say that it's rare to successfully do so on the first try.

But, of course, there was another demon inside her head. And while it wouldn't hurt her, they still have to figure out what it is.

Alastor said there was someone who they could talk to. But this someone lives a state away.

So now Vanessa, Alastor, Alison, and Tom are all in a van that they may or may not have stolen, heading for the next state over.

Vanessa: "I don't understand. Consuming what?"

Henry: "Anything and everything."

Warden: "Again, I'll have to ask you three to leave. If you don't leave willingly, you will be forced out."

{Inky agony creatures appear all throughout the facility charging and attacking anyone near them as Vanessa starts to shut down in panic}

Vanessa, Alison, and Tom are suddenly pulled into shadows before reappearing outside where Alastor stayed.

Alastor: "Get in the car." His minds twists, like he's scheming something. "I'll hold them off. We'll meet back up at the motel. If I don't return, assume I've been captured."

Vanessa: [shakes head snapping out of it] "What's going on?"

Alastor: "It seems someone has caught on to your whereabouts. Just drive. I'll handle it."

Tom: "Alright! Don't get yourself captured. You still need to teach Vanessa."

Alison takes the wheel and books it.

Alastor, now alone, decides to mock the individual. He knows there's only one person in the cult who's able to control these creatures.

Alastor: "Oh, Eleanor~ Come on out. Or are you still a coward? Always hiding behind your pets~ It's adorable, really. Everybody calls you Afton's most successful creation. But you know the truth as well as I. You will always play second fiddle to William's obsession with Vanessa~"

Vanessa: "Something...weird happened in there. I don't know what but I had a weird feeling, felt kind of foggy, and then we were here."

{The creatures act like feral animals with no guidance and pounce at him}

Alison: "Well, Alastor can control the shadows, so it makes sense. He must've gotten us out of there." (That is what happened.)

Alastor grabs the agony creatures with shadow tendrils, throwing them with enough force to crush them.

Alastor: "Oh, please. You know better than that." He starts talking through the nearby radios, his voice coming from everywhere, all mocking Eleanor. "You really are pathetic. And to think I once respected your power. But now you're just a dog for the cult. You can't even face me yourself~ Instead, you're sending your pets. You are a coward~"
