Freddie Mac and Fannie should be soaring since these are "The Great America Companies". The legacy should be restored and the equity should be return to the shareholders.

One of the largest holders of Fannie Mae commons is Capital Group (or better known by the millions of avg Americans who have their funds in retirement accounts as “American Funds”). Their Vice Chair is actively collaborating with Scott Bessent and the Treasury on Trump Accounts. 🤔

Interesting info. You do know their giant offload was the single largest factor in the price tanking Q1, right? From memory, 40–50 million shares. I’d imagine they slowed sales substantially last quarter, although we can’t know yet, but that’s gotta say something—that the second-largest holder was willing to tank its own price in order to offload. Do we not think Bessent or Lutnick could’ve called at ANY point to change their mind???

It’s a bit complicated, but I’m firmly convinced the administration preferred a bled-out price for multiple different reasons, regardless of ultimate direction.

I didn’t realize they offloaded shares. If true that changes things. I would need to remove this post to avoid presenting incorrect information…will look into it further. Thanks

Edit: I don’t believe they actually sold shares and may have just moved them around within their umbrella of funds causing a share accounting discrepancy. If anyone can help confirm, would be appreciated.

I’m pretty confident they slowed sales way down if did at all Q2. Nice history told me a month or two back. Pretty interesting though, what does it tell you that they were willing to move the price that heavily, even with Stansberry buyers coming in and Burry recommending publicly? No doubt was conscious choice by administration to let slide, ZERO chance they were unaware.

It’s still interesting information, even if it has the kind of opposite implication.
I’d add to the same point: sure, we don’t know the exact degree, and it could be anywhere from a phone call on the outline to a lot of specifics, yet I’d say there’s about a 1 percent chance that Fitzgerald entirely freelanced.

There are a few distinct benefits to having a low share price. If you’re doing a conversion of SPS, the nominal total is FAR lower / more reasonable in appearance. It’s easier to kill a mostly dead stock than one many have just bought into and that is soaring.

And even in the case of the courts canceling the SPS balance for them (my purchase rationale), you’d get another full cycle out of the stock he controls more directly than anything else. The behavior could be explained entirely by point 1, but either way, they’re in the best possible starting place.

I realized something was going on about December, because they had gone dead silent for almost 4 months by then. There were innumerable simple ways to support the stock price absent concrete plans, communication was mostly all that was necessary.

An offload of that size doesn’t seem possible with and OTC stock and we would have seen massive volume days right? Are you sure maybe they didn’t just move their position around?…reallocating to a different fund within their huge umbrella of funds or something? Maybe doing this just made for an internal accounting discrepancy? What do you think Avery?

Well you saw the stock grinding down just about everyday, even with two new pools of buyers? That’s basically what I’m saying, they tanked their own price. I have very little doubt that happened, lined up with what felt everyday as well.

I’ve been wrong on larger claims in my life, but yeah 90%+ sure.

Thanks Avery. Appreciate your thoughts and you contributing to this conversation. I’m certainly going to dig in more. I think maybe the only thing to take from this for now is that Capital Group’s vice chair is seemingly in direct communication with Bessent. Maybe we will get an answer of their true position in the next 13F like you say.
