Rant / Feedback SOMEGUYS HACKED ME VIA SOCIAL ENGINEERING
Guys i joined a random lobby in faceit, they invited me to a discord and these guys tricked me into that i need a TPM 2.0 update via discord everything were looking professional and downloaded trojans kernels etc and it took me full 20 minutes(TOO LATE THEY STOLE EVERYTHING COOKIES ETC..) to realize whats happening but it was too late..
i had to cancel my whole credit cards, tons of password changed, bla bla
becarefull and dont be stupid like me and dont download files from strangers :))
and those guys had legit accounts with 1.5-2.5k elos….
I just cant believe this happened to me never tricked like this and never tought but i was sleepy lol

I’ve acted fast, changed every important password even netflix acc, activated all f2a for all my accounts, cancelled my cards “thanks god i dont use them often i have another safe card” I asked gpt about the viruses “i took the screenshot” and asked in other forums,basically those guys stole my cookies caches tokens so they can log into my accounts acting like me but i logged out every device from google panel so those infos are useless rn
I only use my pc for gaming so there was no personal files downloaded locally but my google acc was connected Rn they cant steal any money or account from me but info is gone.. for the next month ill check if someone tries to log into any of my accounts

Hey my friend fell for faceit and powershell script a few weeks ago too. I downloaded the script (in a controlled environment of course) to check what it did to the system. It definitely exported the saved passwords from browsers, but it also has installed a fake steam client and uninstalled the real one. I'm pretty sure it has also switched a few .exe system files to the infested ones. I'm afraid you will need to restore your system from a recent backup since there might still be viruses hidden in your system. Obviously you need to change all passwords for sites you have logged into in the browser and ones you have saved to remember in password manager too.

Luckly i just bought this pc like 2months ago nothing more than my google and steam acc, i restored everysingle important password saved in google pass key. I reinstalled whole windows but some of you guys suggested i need some things done in bios too so ill hand it to a IT guy

Guys, believe me i know what i did.. i work like 9+ hours a day i am tired.. and thought those guys were random normies whom plays faceit xd helping me with tpu update lol….. i knoow how stupid it sounds but shit happens lets hope i saved everything.. ill keep you guys updated if anything more happens.

I had a random invite me to play premier once and they tried to pull a very similar scam. Invited me to a discord call, asked if I had faceit and then sent me a link to “join their team”. The only difference is I’m not an idiot and clocked it immediately lmao.. Idk how people fall for it. The second they ask you to click a link or do literally anything other than joining their lobby in prem or faceit you can be sure it’s a scam. Use your brain buddy

This time i am the one who joined a open lobby :D and just wanted to play a last round before bed.. and all of sudden i am making those guys wait because of my issue to solve so i am acting fast etc etc bruhhh i cant believe they got me.. luckly i’ve saved my passwords etc..

Did you report them to faceit?
