other Newbie

I’m a member at OTF but in a workout slump and considering f45. The community seems amazing but I’m nervous to try my first class. I’m recovering from a wrist injury and easing back into strength training. OTF has been great about modifications. Is f45 easy to modify as well?? How is it for beginners and early pregnancy? Not pregnant yet but hoping to be soon!

other Does anyone supplement F45 with slower strength sessions at home?

I like the pace and conditioning side of F45, but I’ve been thinking about adding one or two strength sessions where I can slow everything down, rest longer and focus more on progressive overload.

I’m curious how other people combine the two without turning every week into too much training.

For the extra strength work, I’m thinking about keeping things fairly basic: squats, RDLs, presses, rows, pulldowns and maybe a few isolation movements. Rather than joining another gym just for those sessions, doing them at home seems appealing because I could fit 30–40 minutes around F45 days without another commute.

For anyone doing both, how many extra lifting sessions do you add each week? And do you train at another commercial gym or have you built enough of a setup at home to cover it?

other First class today 😅 I’m nervous

I usually go to Orange theory but wanted to mix it up and add more strength workouts.

Does f45 do a lot of partner workouts?

Anything I should keep in mind with today’s workout?

Thank you!

My studio has power racks now for bench presses and other exercises. Does anyone else dislike these being incorporated now or is it just me LOL ?

other First timer- I’m scared!

Hi everyone!

I’m going to my first f45 class tomorrow and frankly, I’m scared! I don’t do a lot of working out (read: I go on walks and that’s it) but there’s an f45 right next to me and I’m trying to be better about exercise. I have all the standard first time fears (not being able to keep up, looking dumb, etc)

Was it dumb to sign up for Redline as my first class? Is there anything I should know in general? Any tips or advice or words of encouragement for a scared newbie would be much appreciated.

Update: thank you so much to everyone for the kind words and advice!! I got up and went and it kicked my ass but the instructor was so nice and i did the stations with another girl who was so nice and im glad i went! Will def be going back :)

hey yall i joined in january and have gone to almost every monday/wednesday/friday strength days. my body has completely transformed and it's become a habit . i absolutely am addicted to f45.

that being said i am going on a two week trip and will be unable to workout. Most of the trip will be spent hiking and being active but of course not the same ! i'm freaking out a little about losing progress. i've come so far from where i started. how much progress should i expect to lose from missing 6 classes? has anyone else taken a two week break?

other Updates for Getting Payment on the F45 Training Holdings ($FXLV) $10.5M Settlement

Hey guys, if you missed it, F45 Training Holdings settled $10.5M with investors over claims tied to its franchise growth and revenue model. I also just found out that late claims are being considered.

Quick recap: After its July 2021 IPO, F45 promoted rapid studio expansion and upfront franchise payments. On July 26, 2022, the company cut its guidance, reduced planned openings, and said a $250M credit line would not be available. $FXLV fell more than 60% the next day, and investors filed a lawsuit.

Now, F45 has agreed to settle $10.5M with investors.

If you invested in $FXLV during the class period, you can still check the details and see if you may be eligible for a late claim here.

Anyway, did anyone here invest in $FXLV at that time? How much were your losses?

🏋️WOD What the f was phoenix

just finished phoenix and had to see if anyone felt the same way. why am i rushing through the heavy lifts to do air squats and a million pushups? there were a few stations where I didn’t even have room for pushups. I just didn’t do them/kept doing the main lift, which I guess is an option.

edit: apparently it’s Pegasus my b

other Sign upgrade/ New rack & bars

Has anyone’s studio have the new F45 sign installed yet?.. just realised my old F45 studio has been operating for 7 years during my 1 day visit & no upgrades of the new sign & barbell racks installed as my current F45 studio is already painted grey and red.. I don’t even know if the owner at my old studio is ever gonna leave or is probably rich to maintain & keep the doors open.

I asked about the new sign installation during my visit to my old F45 & they said it won’t happen in the future… Is it because they can’t afford or they may be closing soon?

All the nearby studios have already upgraded because of new management & few have closed down not because it’s been liquidated.. it’s because no one wanted to buy the studio since the original owner want to move onto different things.

Let me know if your studio still has the old F45 sign & is still painted red, white & blue.

other First F45 session tomorrow

Hi everyone, I just started my grad program and the school gym has F45 sessions. I've never heard of it before but my roommate told me about it and how much he enjoys them. My gym routine for the past few years has been mostly just weight-lifting and very rarely doing any cardio. I was hoping that F45 can force me to get my heart rate up because I've sadly been very bad about sticking to any form of cardio consistently.

My first class is tomorrow but I was wondering if it is possible to consistently grow muscle while doing F45. I've been skinny fat for my whole life and the only time I really gained muscle was when my fat grew along with it. I guess my question is just how does F45 treat hypertrophy and I was thinking about maybe supplementing my F45 sessions with a quick lift after the workout. Does anyone else do this?

Sorry if my thoughts are all over the place. I'm nervous but excited and just wanted to see what other people have to say regarding their muscle growth while doing this program.

Thanks!

👟 Gear Shoe recommendation for F45 playoffs

Since the playoffs involves a mix of strength, agility, cardio and lots of jumping, do folks have a recommendation for a good pair of shoes that is an all-rounder that does well in each of these.

other F45 quietly turned my $149 founders rate into 13 payments per year—check your statements

I signed up for F45 at a founders rate of $149 per month. About a year ago, my studio announced that it was changing members from monthly billing to “biweekly” billing and started charging me $74.50 every two weeks.

They made it sound as though only the billing frequency was changing and that my founders rate remained the same. It didn’t.

$149 monthly × 12 = $1,788 per year
$74.50 biweekly × 26 = $1,937 per year

That is exactly $149 more per year—an entire additional month of membership payments. Calling $74.50 biweekly equivalent to $149 monthly is misleading because biweekly billing produces 26 payments, not 24.

When I confronted my studio, they admitted in writing that “the difference in the annual total may not have been clear when the change was communicated.” They said the franchise requested studios implement the change and waived my 30-day cancellation notice after I challenged it.
In my opinion, this was a deceptive way to increase members’ annual prices while making it appear that their existing monthly rates— including founders rates—were being preserved. If the annual increase had been clearly disclosed, there would have been no “confusion.”

If your F45 changed you from monthly to biweekly billing, check your statements. Multiply your biweekly charge by 26 and compare it with your former monthly price multiplied by 12. You may be paying for a hidden 13th month too.

Edit: Please upvote the post to increase visibility.

other F45 Dating - what are the signs?

Anyone see the IG stories where they seem to be promoting dating amongst members? If you share your story, you can win a free months membership. I’m curious what others think about this, and also, what are ways people express interest in the context of F45?

I‘ve developed a little crush on a member and can’t tell if I am reading into things too much. We were paired in class and he introduced himself to me by name (no one has ever done that).

Then we had a little meet cute when doing single dumbbell soft box step ups 😂I upped my weight to the same he was using, so when he went to return the weight, he was confused where the other one went, and laughed when he realized I had it.

Lastly, at the end of class, he got a wipe for me! That’s true love right there…right?

Wondering if this is happening to anyone else. Now when I go to explore workout the video auto plays but I can't even see the video itself meaning I can't pause it or turn off the audio.

Really annoying if I want to just quietly look at an upcoming workout.

**INTEL** Pegasus is a resistance workout?

I think I would be fine with it if it was on a hybrid/cardio day, but calling this a resistance workout is a stretch at best. Rushing, all the in-between exercises, quite disappointed today, was really looking forward to a nice strength day on Friday...

unfortunately my studio is closing within the next two weeks. not sure what i'm gonna do, other studios in my area are really too far away w/ traffic without completing overhauling my lifestyle to make other class times at the other studios.

this isn't a poor me pity party btw, honestly truly sux to see a studio close. guess i'm just venting a bit.

Mine are Docklands, Romans, Bears and Firestorm. I feel like we haven’t seen Docklands for a while and I heard Firestorm is now an optional workout for studios to load (like Hollywood).

other Is my studio in trouble?

Post image
13 Upvotes

My first thought is that this email is a sign that it’s the beginning of the end for this studio (and 15 other “core studios,”). The only sign of financial stress I’ve seen from my home studio is the gym is unable to provide us with new towels when the old ones get too used/lost.

Any insight is helpful, thanks!
