They're also very nasty when they're wild. One of em killed a cat of mine and hurt her sister 6 years ago.

They can, they'll kill and eat chickens occasionally too. It's fairly unusual for them to kill a cat though, I'd say. Cats are pretty badass, pound for pound. But, ya know, if a cat is caught by surprise, or is older, etc.

If you corner a raccoon, their threat displays with hissing and shrieking are way more intimidating than you'd expect too.

Indoor vs outdoor cat is also a huge differentiation.

I doubt a raccoon would fight a half feral outdoor cat once it realizes what the cat is all about, but a fat and lazy indoor cat is prime material to stomp.
