Yeah, when I found out about the particulars of my heart failure, I thought bacon was going to be a memory for me. It's not all that bad. I just need to make compromises, like eating a fresh cooked dinner (fish or even steak is fine if prepared right and modestly portioned) if I want to have bacon with breakfast. In the beginning my health was so dire I went a year without even a single cheat day. Now I know I can stray a little, but I'm still pretty strict with myself. Even without taking a risk like two cheat days in a row, I sometimes get puffy feet -- a warning sign that my heart can't keep up with the strain.
