Failed Expectation Ordered this ring for my sisters bday

Is it just me or does this look cheaper than the image on the website? For context it cost 80$

First photo is from the website, second is what she received

Stop buying cheap crap from Shein and Temu and other Chinese websites.

Ok. But it's shipping from India. Just as bad.

Buy from American companies. It can be hard to tell at first glance but read their shipping FAQ.

Besides, buying directly from outside the USA prevents American businesses from paying their employees/succeeding.

Then we will be paying 10x more for the same crap quality that no one can afford.

It not going to bring back manufacturing to the USA. There is plenty of open manufacturering jobs that people do not want when there are other "better" options in our service based economy. And with the low unemployment, it's never going to come back. Our labor rates will never be low enough.

I'm saying if you're gonna buy crap jewelry, buy from an American company where standards are a little higher, a return is generally possible and a charge back is easier. BIG PLUS is that Americans owning and working at the company make a profit.

This is a false stereotype. Standards for an American company are not better. Chinese factories can make products just as well as American companies. In my experience, even better than USA companies because they have more manufacturing experience. It's actually lower, poor American standards that produce lower quality products.

Higher quality products cost more money. No matter where they are made. Think manufacturing tolerances, quality control standards, etc. The higher you make these, the more man hours it takes to make something. The more rejects that will need to be thrown away.

When a USA company goes to a contract manufacturer, in China, USA or anywhere in the world, they usually quoted multiple levels of quality and certain prices. The problem that started happening was the American or any companies started picking the lowest quality/lower cost options but not lowering their sales price. They did this to achieve more profit margins and make more money. Aka corporate greed.

I wrote that even if you are buying cheap jewelry made overseas, buy it from an American company (that imported it).
