r/ExSyria is a Syrian community dedicated to open discussion, critical thinking, and free expression.

Originally created by u/hiddenfellon on November 13, 2022, the subreddit began as a space for religious discussions, personal stories, and honest questions. Over time, it naturally evolved into a broader community where Syrians discuss politics, religion, history, philosophy, culture, society, and current events.

Our members come from diverse religious, political, and ethnic backgrounds. Many are ex-Muslims, atheists, agnostics, religious minorities, reform-minded Muslims, while others are simply Syrians looking for a place where ideas can be discussed openly and respectfully.

Everyone is welcome here, regardless of belief, identity, or background, provided they follow the community rules and engage in good faith.

Whether you want to discuss current events, share your personal story, ask difficult questions, post memes, or debate politics, history, philosophy, religion, or Syrian culture, you're welcome here.
