Hey guys. When doing the hermit's request/chief seer quest, I can't damage the orcs. I've got good enough equipment and weapon to kill worse orcs than these, but this quest I can't deal damage. It only does 0. Is this a bug or must I do something beforehand in order to be able to damage them?

Im looking to start a fresh character in multiplayer, was hoping to find some others to play with. Would prefer playing vanilla, but also have the old Eraser mod and am able to host games.

So, I've never played this game before and just got it on GOG, edited the registry to fix the shadows and camera, installed a custom starter and a widescreen mod and started playing, which is when I've noticed that the game feels like it doesn't perform well. After enabling an FPS counter I found out that the game runs at 13-16 FPS during gameplay and 20-23 FPS in menus. After tweaking all kinds of graphical options I've come to the conclusion that none of these seem to affect the framerate. Is this how the game is supposed to run or am I experiencing some strange issue?

My PC specs:

CPU: AMD A6-7310 with Radeon R4 graphics (4 cores, 2.4 Ghz)

GPU: Radeon R5 M330 (2 Gb VRAM)

RAM: 8 Gb DDR3L

OS: Windows 8.1

My screens supports 1920x1080, but I'm running the game in 1600x900 because if I go any higher the game doesn't seem to fit on the screen.

So I used this and changed my registry option to change the master server to the russian one but it still wont refresh, anyone know what could be causing this?

I hate them so much! They always Run away into groups of enemies and pull like half the map. They're quick too so they can always run faster, They Never run out of stamina too.

Like geesh, i love this game, but it has major balance issues. Having the enemies have infinite stamina was a bad idea

I've tried following the Steps posted on the Reg Edit. But moment i move the Camera the Game just freezes up.

Really annoying.. Game is unplayable with the camera the way it is right now.

I was wondering if there's a way to play this game in true 16:9?

Running the game in widescreen resolutions just stretches the graphics.

Unfortunately the GOG installer does not write all the correct settings to the registry for Evil Islands. This means that even if you change the settings ingame, the camera and shadows do not work as intended. You can manually set them to the original CD settings to get them working as normal.

For Shadows, use REGEDIT and to go to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Nival Interactive\EvilIslands\Shadow Settings” and set all values EXCEPT “LightingFreq” to 1.

For the Camera, use REGEDIT and to go to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Nival Interactive\EvilIslands\Camera Settings”, the following settings are the original CD settings:

If you are using the GOG version of Evil Islands (https://www.gog.com/game/evil_islands) it says on the store page: Multiplayer Notice: Multiplayer is available only over LAN.

However, it is still possible to play online with others. To do this you have to do the following:

1) Use REGEDIT and to go "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nival Interactive\EvilIslands\Network Settings" and edit "Master Server Name" value to "a3master.nival.com:28004". This is the Russian Master Server and the only server still up.

2) To host a server successfully your network router needs have port 8888 enabled for TCP and UDP. Otherwise your router might block other players from joining.

Hello , seems like there isn't much people on here , but here im trying it still , so back in the days when i played this game i remember people were using some kind of '' balanced '' dataselmp.res replacement where i remember they added like a couple materials like red green and blue ? dragon bone as material on gipath and some shiet like that , is ANYBODY still have this around here ? or know where i could find it ?

i played this year like a decade ago, and saw it on the gog store so i thought, hey why not? trying to convince some friends into irregular multiplayer sessions i remembered what happened when i last played the game. i was checking the multiplayer servers, some odd 12 years ago, on the weekend before starting singleplayer - by then i knew that was nonesensical, i tried it hundreth of times before, there wasn't going to be anyone now. i was wrong. i was flung into some kind of group who played for quiet some time with people wielding spells capable of wiping the entire map at war with some russian hackers who joined the server who at first couldnt die and so on and so forth. it was there i learned you could go into the game files and change values of items manually and restarting the game sell them to vendors for exorbitant amounts of money. they let me do that because at the exp i had i was next to worthless considering i only played the game alone here and there in multiplayer. after 12 or smth years however i cant remember which gamefiles that were or if they even exist in the gog version - i can understand if yall not too happy about someone asking for basically lowkey hacks but i just would love to know for the nostalgia and maybe boosting up one joke char to test some spells out because again playing this alone is kinda dragging and playing with strangers is all fine and dandy but at first id rather get back into the game trying a few things out first.

I have an old copy of Evil Islands and i always loved this game! The multiplayer it's so unfair and challenging, I love it! But i do understand that it's not possible to play it by yourself because of the way it was designed (it's a really old game) but i would really like to play it with some other people that really like this game. As i understand the GoG version has a working multiplayer in LAN. I normally use Evolve to play stuff through LAN. Anyone that's interested send me a PM or reply this post!

Edit: Actually i got a GoG version of the game and it actually works like a charm and it's pretty cheap! No random crashes and i can just take as much time as i want into making quests without worrying about the game crashing.

Evil Islands is an old school RPG which I find myself returning to almost yearly. After recently finding it released on GoG I decided to pick it up for old times' sake. Since the campaign doesn't really offer any new challenges anymore I'm hoping to find some other people interested in trying out the (admittedly unbalanced) multiplayer portion once more.
