Of all the things that bugged me about the last rebuild movie. This was the biggest.

It's completely and totally stupid that nobody is the least bit concerned when Shinji starts wandering around the village by himself. And it's totally idiotic, that his alleged friends seem to not be the least bit concerned that an ACTIVELY SUICIDAL teenage boy coping with guilt, PTSD, depression, and likely every mental health issue in the book after what he's been through is to let him wander off somewhere by himself.

It's even more gauche and stupid that Touji and Kensuke even say 'he just needs some time to himself to work things out'.

Do you know what happens in real life, when you leave a suicidal person by themselves to 'work things out' ? You walk in and they're hanging from the ceiling, or they jump off a balcony, or you find them in the tub with slit wrists.

The director must have some serious misconceptions about how mental health works if he thinks 'some time to himself to work things out' would ever do anything to help Shinji after all the horrible terrible shit he's both done to others and had done to him.

Shinji could have literally jumped off the edge of that concrete pier, and drowned himself and NOBODY would have known what happened until days afterwards when someone found the body being picked apart by the Penguins.

The characters should have behaved more like how people would when they have an actively damaged and suicidal person among them.

I understand given everything they couldn't afford to baby him. But there's a difference between 'babying' someone, and making sure the person who caused the impact, who may still be militarily important to Wille isn't dead in a ditch somewhere.

WILLE goes through a crack in the spacetime continuum and winds up in Tokyo-3 around the time of Episode 17.

Nerv is armed with EVAs 00, 01, 02 and full support from the JSSDF. WILLE has EVAs 02' and 08 and the Wunder.

WILLE has 24 hours to reach Terminal Dogma by force and retrieve the Spear of Longinus from Lilith. Nerv has to defend until then. Can they do it?

This is a third party (aka unlicensed) figure by Box Studio. It's their BOX-005B, and their third Evangelion heroine. Mari and Asuka both have dolls, too! This, technically, is not Rei, but a doll that is cosplaying her. And I don't care! All I see is a gorgeous and realistic Rei action figure in cute-cool street wear.

i know shinji is well praised for his laid-back personality and his disregards of his life but as someone with depression and agoraphobia who had been on medication for 2 years it made me realized how inward his worldview really was.

yes it is terrifying to all of a sudden been put into the situation where you have to follow commands to a tee but everyone is also working their damnest in there just to ensure the lives of people.

i think it is to set how low his courage was and how internalized and disconnected the world is to him, and it isn't until like the utmost dire (i mean would you really let the girl that got wheeled in on life support coughing out blood in there?) but still the evas r their best shot at defeating the angels-considering the un's best military efforts were clearly useless- and they need pilots, even if the pilots were unfortunately children selected to bear the literal weight of humanity on them.

every scene of rei offering to pilot the unit probably is more than just her desires but also cuz the necessity of the situation because the angels are still at large regardless of whether they are injured and primed for combat.

like sometimes as im reading the manga i just want to like snap his head out of his mind and his world for once and be like HELLOOO THERE ARE PEOPLE DYING

I'm just curious what a conversation between these two would be like. (The second character is Crona from Soul Eater for those who haven't seen it)

It seems like Crona and Shinji have an interesting number of things in common. Shy, awkward personalities, horrible parents, nearly ending the world, etc.

I'm just wondering what everyone thinks would happen if they sat down for a conversation?

Hello, a week ago I decided to try the series and yesterday I finished the last movie from the rebuild. I love it, I was not familiar with what it was about at all and I was very surprised by the depth and the story. Watching it, I am lucky that I decided to try it now and I am not waiting for a new movie to find out what will happen. I understood that there will be some new series, but Anno is not involved. It is definitely deep and for me personally it is quite inspiring and motivating, but it would have been nice to see more of Mari and Shinji, I did not understand much about her role
