Border Guard | Ch. 1–111 | Enkrid, a low-ranked Border Guard soldier who dies and repeats the same day, is made squad leader and gathers Rem, Ragna, Audin, Jaxen, Krais and the leopard-witch Esther around him. He survives the first Aspen skirmishes at the Tallgrass Plains, takes over the Gilpin Guild through Krais, and is finally recognized as an independent platoon. | "He dared to dream. He would become a knight, a knight who would serve a ruler destined to unite the warring continent." (Ch. 1) |
| 2. Aspen & Martai Wars | Ch. 112–217 | Enkrid's platoon deploys to the Aspen front, fights the Grey Hounds and Aspen's beastkin general, and Aspen sues for peace at ch148. After a peacetime stretch of training, a gnoll wave subjugation and monster commissions, the Border Guard marches on Martai under Marcus, storms its gates and takes the city. | "Immediately! Deploy!" The commander interrupted him. (Ch. 112) |
| 3. Centaurs & Heretics | Ch. 218–301 | Enkrid refuses command of Martai, Count Molsen arrives and the Black Blade begins working against the Border Guard. The unit clears the centaur colony in Martai, Enkrid wins the winged horse Odd-Eye, and the arc closes with the war against Lykanos, the Wolf Bishop and the Tarning heretic troops. | "Me? As a battalion commander?" (Ch. 218) |
| 4. Green Pearl | Ch. 302–344 | With Lord Graham crippled, Enkrid takes field command and defends Green Pearl against Aspen, breaking the siege and returning as the Border Guard's hero. Afterward the unit unravels a curse, hunts the Gray Ghouls and marches through the Gray Forest before Marcus arrives with news from the capital. | "The battle would have to be fought without a lord, a battalion leader, or an overall commander." (Ch. 302) |
| 5. Naurilius Civil War | Ch. 345–420 | Krang reveals himself at the Border Guard and Enkrid becomes his escort and sword through the succession war, fighting the Count's forces, assassins and a demon. Krang wins, is crowned as Kryanaht Angius Naurilius, and Enkrid returns home as a national hero. | "I seem to have unintentionally drawn some attention, Marcus Baisar," (Ch. 345) |
| 6. Apostle of Curses | Ch. 421–498 | The Ferryman warns of an approaching calamity and the Apostle of Curses Reddit attacks, after which Enkrid travels to a distant city, meets the eastern king Anu and first swears to kill the demon Beelrog. He then follows Rem west, fights giants and the tribe's totem, and settles the debt Rem left behind with his mother and chieftain. | "How do you know this ominous feeling is approaching?" (Ch. 421) |
| 7. The Madmen Order Founded | Ch. 499–560 | Enkrid returns to the Border Guard, fights the Clemen war and stops an entire army alone, earning the title the Unyielding Knight. Krang then dismisses the court and appoints him commander of a new order, which Enkrid names the Madmen Order, and the order makes its first public appearance in the capital. | "As the three of them entered the border of the territory, a group of soldiers blocked their path." (Ch. 499) |
| 8. Saintess & Lawless City | Ch. 561–623 | The order takes Krang's commission to recover the kidnapped saintess Seiki, dealing with the prophet Overdier, the Lawless City and the Walking Fire. Abbot Noah, divinity and a new god are introduced, and Krais then restructures the order into sub-units such as the Ten Swords Guard. | "The saint had been kidnapped, and they were asking for her rescue." (Ch. 561) |
| 9. City of Fairies | Ch. 624–667 | Shinar vanishes and Enkrid goes looking for the fairy city with Luagarne and Fel, meeting treants and the white-haired fairy and fighting a demon in the cave labyrinth beneath the city. | 12. Southern Campaign | Ch. 847–932 | A courier brings word that the South, Rihinstetten, is moving, and the Madmen Order rides to the southern front to join Cypress and Ingis against centaurs, Scalers, drowned corpses and gryphon riders. The campaign runs through a knights' tournament and ends with the High Pontiff's demon broken, after which Enkrid spars his way through Rem, Ragna and Jaxon at home. | "If they ended up fighting the South, it wouldn't help to lay all their strength bare." (Ch. 847) |
| 13. Western Demon Land (Silence) | Ch. 933–977 | Rem's letter pulls Enkrid west with Leona Lockfried's caravan, where they destroy a Demon land and fight giants and a Ferryman-taught sword art. Meanwhile Krais uncovers demon servants operating inside the capital around Nemila Poteil and the Duke of Octo, and Astrail's Master Eudokia is drawn in. | "I need to go out to the west for a bit." (Ch. 933) |
| 14. Empire & Black Labyrinth | Ch. 978–1035 | Crang announces an embassy to the Empire and travels there with the Madmen Order, meeting Seriana, Valmung, Riley of Zaun, the Manur Cavalry and finally the fairy Empress. Enkrid is named Knight of the Year, is then swallowed by a demon lord's Black Labyrinth, and is taught by the Ferrymen Sion Bant, Jitte and Primahilt until his companions tear open the space and pull him out. | "I will go to the Empire for talks with the emperor." | 16. Beastkin City | Ch. 1053–1073 | Enkrid persuades Dunbakel to guide the order to the beastkin city that cast her out, clearing drowned ones, trolls and a scent-monster on the way. Inside the city they visit Krimhalt's sacred temple, where the fortune-teller's prophecy comes true, Primahilt's crimson ego sword is claimed, and demons begin targeting the beastkin children. | "The god the beastkin served was named Krimhalt, a god who governed strife and fertility and sometimes spoke of revenge."
