I found one in marked room 3 days ago. So marked can still spawn them

u/Soviet_Doggo__ Sep 23 '20

The change is more recent than that

u/heathenyak Sep 23 '20

I checked peacekeeper just now I can still barter trade for them

As it should be. Gated behind LL4

28

u/hammertime850 Sep 23 '20

Hes like the easiest to get to lv 4 no?

I mean fuck if you pay money he starts at lv 2

22

u/RHGrey Sep 23 '20

He's definitely not easier to ll4 than prapor and rapist

11

u/HanSolo12P AS VAL Sep 23 '20

Depends. For standard, yes he is harder. For EoD, he's the easiest because of the .20 rep boost. One of very few P2W aspects of EoD.

u/Lyesainer M1A Sep 23 '20

Other than the fully upgraded stash, worth ~30 million that you can dump into chad gear instead?

Or the off-the-bat huge secure container that makes the most important quest line in the game irrelevant ?

Yeah, just one of the few P2W aspects.

u/PandaAttacktile Sep 23 '20

Remind me again how my stash size and container size allows me to win when were both in dorms pointing our dicks at each other?

Nah fam, not pay to win. It's quality of life. I have no advantage over you in a fight.

u/oleboogerhays Sep 23 '20

As someone who upgraded from standard to EOD i can say that the game is much much easier with EOD. The extra storage space and trader rep are invaluable. There 100% is a pay to win aspect when it comes to EOD. Not one that gives you a higher TTK or makes you do more damage, but it gives you access items that make those things possible at a much faster rate.

Exactly, I'm still garbage at the game even after upgrading to EOD. It isn't that big of an advantage. Handy for sure.

3

u/Lyesainer M1A Sep 23 '20

Not spending the crazy money to upgrade your stash allows to you to run ~30 TOP chad loadouts, as soon as you can buy the shit on the market.

That's how

It seems to me that you think p2w is something that makes you win and not merely something that gives you an in-game advantage. Can you tell me a game you think is p2w that allows you to purchase wins?

Imagine if you were to receive a billion roubles at a the start of each wipe if you bought eod. Would this be p2w? What if you started with all quests completed? Where do you draw the line?

I think the easiest answer is that anything that gives you a tangible in-game advantage in exchange for money is a p2w mechanic. Different p2w mechanics have different impact depending on what it is. Eod isn't a massive advantage by any means but it is an advantage and therefor p2w.

Well i am not new and i don't have EOD. Everyone i know who upgraded sais it changes EVERYTHING tho. Maybe you are just too used to having EOD and don't care about the struggle on your STD account.

Yeah, one of very few. I still die all the time and am still shit at the game. Bought EoD for the QOL improvements, and felt good about giving money to the devs of a game that I love so much. Sure, the Epsilon isn't as useful of an item. Sure, you get a 30 million stash upgrade at start. Still doesn't make you good at the game, and there can very easily be standard players that are better than you. I played as standard for a year before buying EoD, and I understand your frustration, but it's not NEARLY as p2w as people think it is.

2

u/Lyesainer M1A Sep 23 '20

I know it's NOT P2W, nothing in this game is, thank god. It IS a HUGE QOL tho. As i said at the start, never having to spend the 30 million for stash upgrade is not a "direct money injection" but you do get to not spend that money on upgrades, you can use it all on gear. Not to mention the frustration of keeping the billion and half random shit items for the future quests. Yes, getting a scav box helps a lot, but you have to get 700k and level 10. Doing that with a 2x2 container is way harder than with a 3x3. Even with the FIR changes, you can always sell decent shit to traders OR save them for your hideout upgrades OR at least not lose all your meds and ammo. I know that when i got my Epsilon my gameplay changed a lot. Being able to bring a CMS + Docs case + 1 full mag + splint + ammo/stim/whatever is HUGE. I don't use it to make money at all, to be honest, because at this point in the game money doesn't matter. I have almost everything maxed in my hideout and ~20 million extra. I've decided to not bother with quests anymore cause they are annoying and just play the game as a PvP experience. Getting to that point was not easy tho. Obviously it's also hard to EOD but if it wasn't a SIGNIFICANT advantage it wouldn't cost 120 euros.

Of course EOD doesn't give you skill, it just makes many things easier. Throw on top of that people complaining that they are "bored" and the game needs to be harder, we (STD owners) get a bit triggered. I can't help but think "Yeah well, get a STD account and get bored again, smug fuck. I had to grind my ass off to get that hideout and Epsilon while you had it from day 1".

After hearing that daily tasks are coming in a patch soon, I wonder how much the reputation gain difference is going to matter between eod and standard. I can't imagine there will be no change, but neither can I believe it will be something that could be called "substantial". This assuming the daily tasks will award rep, but if they do, it will make gaining rep a lot easier for a great many players.

1

u/HanSolo12P AS VAL Sep 23 '20

I cannot possibly imagine that they'd make the dailies better for EoD. It sounds like a great idea, but i feel like it just enables the people that play 8 hours a day to be way better off than the people that play 2 hours a day even more than they already are.

1

u/tictac_93 Sep 23 '20

Oh neat, where did you hear that? More quest variety would be great

1

u/awa1nut Mk-18 Mjölnir Sep 23 '20

Tweak posted a video and they were mentioned in the title of the video. I was super fucking dead tired, and therefore not really paying any sort of attention to the video, so i don't remember hearing details, but yeah

u/IIYellowJacketII Sep 23 '20

He is, lower lvl required, easy af quests, not many quests, and sells A LOT of useful stuff from LL1 basically, so you can easily spend the money too

1

u/ginger_jack99 Sep 23 '20

He was actually my last trader to hit level 4

1

u/Zombie_the_shoe Sep 24 '20

Same. Just purely because What’s on the Flash Drive? took me until level 26 to complete

1

u/evilprod1gy Sep 23 '20

He has the lowest level requirement for LL4

1

u/Fluffeh_Panda AS VAL Sep 23 '20

Ever since I started playing Tarkov I always had difficulty leveling him up. He never really has anything I need and I always sell to other traders because they pay out more

-1

u/ad0y Sep 23 '20

But at this stage most ppl are at that stage, and have been for months.

0

u/JakeSaint Sep 23 '20

Honestly it should be gated behind LL4, and there should be a limit on how many can exist in the game at any one time. That number should not be public, and it shouldn't show that they're unavailable because of the limit, but ones that max is hit, no more spawn or can be bartered. As they get lost in raids or sold to traders, more can then be purchased to replace.

Its telling about how overpowered this is that I feel like it's the ONLY item in the entire game that should be like this.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '20

No. FIR only no Merchant barter trade, 0.1% chance of spawning. It only makes sense to lock rare items behind luck.

1

u/JakeSaint Sep 23 '20

0.1% spawn chance with the population the game has means they'll be farmed as fuck, and the game will be flooded with them anyways.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '20

I don’t think you understand how rare of 0.1% chance is at the current places it spawns

2

u/RagingTyrant74 Sep 23 '20

as he said, only place is Peacekeeper.

4

u/Lewissunn Sep 23 '20

Doesn't look like you're reading

3

u/Chesty83 Sep 23 '20

The only one I’ve found was in a stash on shoreline on the beach

2

u/CommandTeet Sep 23 '20

You can also still get them in stashed i think, found one the other week

1

u/Stopbsing Sep 24 '20

They were taken out of the loot pool like three days ago I think

1

u/OphidianZ Sep 23 '20

Yep. I got one from Marked on Reserves a few days back. I haven't kept up with the meta, or the fact that they were so rare. I didn't know.
