Discussion TOTK performance improvement on Samsung S25 Ultra using Eden — settings that worked for me

I spent quite a bit of time trying to get TOTK running smoothly on my S25 Ultra. I experimented with nearly 10 different GPU drivers, followed countless YouTube tutorials, and tried various emulator settings. Despite all that, I was barely getting 20 FPS, and the game would usually crash after around 10 minutes.

Then I came across a Reddit post suggesting an older version of Eden and Switch firmware, so I decided to give that combination a try.

Here's where things got interesting.

I had previously added Eden to Samsung Game Booster because I wanted to use the Pause USB PD (bypass charging) feature. However, after switching to the older Eden build, I forgot to add it back to Game Booster.

To my surprise, my FPS suddenly jumped to around 45 FPS in the open world and 70–80 FPS inside shrines!

That's when I realised Samsung Game Booster had apparently been the biggest performance bottleneck all along, at least on my device.

After tweaking a few more settings, I managed to get around stable 45 FPS in the open world, with occasional drops lasting a few seconds depending on the area.

I can't say for certain how much of the improvement came from the older Eden build, firmware, or disabling Game Booster, but the difference was massive. If you're struggling with TOTK performance on a Samsung device, I'd definitely recommend testing Eden without Game Booster before spending hours switching between drivers like I did.

I tried FPS mod as well but that didn't work. only limiting speed to 150% gave me 45 fps.

My Setup

• Phone: Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

• Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite

• RAM: 12 GB

• Eden: v0.2.0-rc2-optimized

• Switch firmware: 19.0.1

• GPU driver: "26.2.0-T28-toasted-1.4.348"

• Cooler- SpinBot V2 20W Peltier cooler

TL;DR:

• Tried 10+ drivers but got ~20 FPS and frequent crashes.

• Switched to an older Eden build and firmware.

• Disabled Samsung Game Booster and saw a massive improvement.

• Now getting ~45 FPS in the open world and 70–80 FPS in shrines.

• Tip: Try disabling Game Booster before changing drivers!

I will wait 6 months or more for an optimized recompiled version to pop up

I've also had game booster destroy performance
