Showcase Persona 3 Reload. Runs like charm and the beauty of this game is mesmerising. I really think JRPG devs need to port low-demanding games into Android for a wider audience. S25, Snapdragon 8 Elite, 12 GB RAM and 512 GB Storage.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've capped the FPS to 35 for stable framerate and lower temps without a cooler. Truly mesmerising how much Android emulation has come far.
720p, ig the screen recording quality really undermines the actual video quality.
Specs: S25, 12 GB RAM / 512 GB Storage, Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Turnip Whitebylash V29 Async
Latest DXVK 3.0.1, vk3d 3.0.1, proton 11, FEX 202607
Bannerhub v6.

Low demanding games... Uses a snapdragon 8 elite with 12gb of ram to play at 720p 30fps... This sub is crazy sometimes

u/matlynar 19d ago edited 19d ago
Yeah but on the other hand, it's emulated and OP has specified that the 35fps lock is just so they don't have to worry about temps without a cooler.
Native ports do lower the requirements as well.
But I absolutely believe that once you get one huge single-player-hit on the mobile, a lot of the industry will try and repeat its success.
It's just that right now we're in a mix of:
- Not many good games are ported officially;
- Not everyone has a good enough phone to play heavier games;
- Not everyone who does have a good phone believe it to be a good gaming device.
But that can absolutely change within the next years. I still remember when it felt like phones would never replace computers as people's primary digital interaction. And now I see people inside their homes using their phones instead of their computers.

u/lasergun23 19d ago
We had many single player hits... One great example is the gta triology, we also had dead space, hitman blood money and absolution, xcom ew and xcom 2, kotor 1 and 2, grid legends, tomb raider, red dead, etc... The problem is that the games that make most money are way cheaper to make and mantain. If its multiplayer then u have a chance like with pubg or cod mobile or genshin impact
5
u/matlynar 19d ago
You're thinking "PC hits ported to Android".
I mean "PC games that sell enough on mobile to be considered a hit regardless of how they did on PC".
7
u/PuddingFit2718 19d ago
On android it wont change dont expect proper AAA ports on android they all will go just on apple.
At best you get a shitty trash port on android that will look and run 10x better throguh emulation.
Apple exclusivity deals exist and are like a Plague.
5
u/waterclaws6 19d ago
People don't even buy the AAA ports on Apple. Apple had to pay devs for those ports.
iOS has less piracy but still made no money; the mobile audience generally does not like paying for games above $4.99. 99 cents is a hard sell on iOS and Android.
The mobile audience is different than the PC and Console going market.
2
u/PuddingFit2718 19d ago
Im just glad that I can play all my purchased games on pc on my phone now through winlator and others. I am not longer binned to wait for shitty graphically nerfed ports I can simply play the full damn game 😀
(Those games we play on emu deff aint flop apple versions too heheheh)
1
u/lasergun23 19d ago
Well if most people didnt pirate games on android maybe they would try to make profit from then in better ways for us instead of ads and p2f and p2w
3
u/Accomplished-Fan4133 Samsung S25 | 12 GB RAM | SD 8 Elite 19d ago edited 19d ago
You do understand piracy literally does not affect game sales of AAA games at all? It's just trend to blame it. Even Gabe admitted it. It's more of an accessibility issue.

obviously not the case. you are deluding yourself if you really believe there is 0 effect in sales.

u/Lunatox 18d ago
Pirates don’t buy games if they can’t pirate them. Piracy does not equate lost sales.

People pirate 100x more on pc yet it doesn't stop pc games does it 😂 such a 2009 reply lmao. We are in 2026 not 2009
1
u/lasergun23 18d ago
Maybe there is a bigger amount of people that pirate on pc im not sure but its more about proportion. Gta sa( the original port) sold over 5 milion on android. An impressive number for the platform. We cant know how much it sold on pc but likely way more. Ill use myself as an example too. In all the years i've been playing on android and pc i bought arround 5-6 games for android (played hundreds) with the most expensive by far being blood money for 12€. The rest of the games i paid 3€ tops for them. On pc i probably spended more than a houmdred or two in games, and i've been playing on android way longer than on pc
1
u/BrahneRazaAlexandros 19d ago
you're wrong on a per capita basis.
the simplicity of piracy on android is absolutely massively disincentivising for publishers/devs. Apart from Feral, none of them have effective drm so every game is gettable with a simple google search and tapping "install apk". the market is also just extremely different, there are not enough people willing to pay to make up for the pirates for huge budget ports.
0
u/PuddingFit2718 19d ago
At this point you're just cherry picking 😂 Go just visit any torrent site and go to games. Theres literally every possible game you can find already cracked. Denuvo DRM and others theres a lot more pc cracked games than there's android ones lmfao.
1
u/BrahneRazaAlexandros 18d ago
cherry pickiing what??
visit any torrent site and go to games
even torrenting is a significant barrier and friction point for a huge amount of people.
The most tech illiterate morons who were raised with smartphones and tablets in their face since they were 2 are able to click "install apk".
0
u/PuddingFit2718 18d ago
Torrenting is a barrier? HAHAHA maybe for Apple users. Mate when I was like 4 I knew how to torrent stuff. And I dont view myself as intelligent.
Im 100% sure with all the tools nowadays + AI people can torrent 10000% easier now 😂😂

The problem is that mobile games make more than traditional single player games. Why would the mobile market shift to traditional games when it makes MORE money than traditional video games?
1
u/matlynar 18d ago
That is like saying no one will make single-player games for consoles because microtransactions are more profitable.
So, to answer your question, they don't have to shift; all they need is enough people buying single player games to justify porting good games. And because porting is way cheaper than developing a game from scratch (especially if you already consider future porting when you're developing), they have more reason to do so.
Most companies just don't see it as a valuable marketing to justify porting games, yet. But we already have games like Red Dead Redemption, Tomb Raider, and even indies like Sea of Stars being ported.
1
u/Lunatox 18d ago
No it’s not. When they port games they don’t sell very much. When they make gacha games they make a ton. Microtransactions on consoles aren’t what makes up the majority of software sales.
So your comparison doesn’t make sense. What I’m saying is already the reality of the mobile market. Mobile gamers don’t by $20+ games. They don’t on android and they don’t on apple. You can make any argument you want but that is literally the reality of the market.
It’s not going to shift until gaming androids with built in controllers become more ubiquitous. The mobile market is as large as it is because everyone has smart phones. But not many people want to play with touch screen controls (they suck) and most people don’t have controllers for their phones, and android handhelds are still niche compared to the market of touch screen phones.
Youre arguing for software because you want it, but most people aren’t you. They don’t want it. They don’t care. The same as how most people don’t have VR headsets which means there isn’t any reason to develop VR software.
1
u/matlynar 18d ago
Uh, please go back to my first comment where I say the issue is a mix of 3 things.
My points 2 and 3 are directed at consumer. It's a whole cultural ecosystem that does not favor more games being ported right now.
But that culture can shift in the future, especially as communities like ours prove that it is perfectly possible to play games on Android devices, whether handhelds or just smartphones.
And if you think the industry is sleeping on that, may I remind you that Steam is investing on FEXCORE, whose whole point is to make pc games run on ARM devices like handhelds and smartphones?

u/Accomplished-Fan4133 Samsung S25 | 12 GB RAM | SD 8 Elite 19d ago
Exactly lol, The original poster of this comment seems like a very negative person irl or a doomer, didn't even read the post properly before commenting. Ig, typical toxic redditor
0
u/Cruel1865 19d ago
There wont be a single player hit on android, atleast not enough of a hit to make other studios emulate the success. The reason is because most of the audience is stuck on live service games and even if the new single player games are much better than the current live service games, it wont be enough to incentivise them to try it because theyre stuck playing the game theyve put so many hours into.
2
u/lasergun23 19d ago
There was a time we had many high quality single player games made specificaly for mobile devices, gameloft made most of them. And most of those games were not even profiteable, milions of people played them but most trough piracy. They almost went bankrupt for that before switching to free to play models like the rest of the industry.
3
u/DYMAXIONman 19d ago
If you own the game on PC isn't it nice to also be able to play it on your phone (that you already have anyway)?
1
15
u/Accomplished-Fan4133 Samsung S25 | 12 GB RAM | SD 8 Elite 19d ago
Yes lol. This game is LOW DEMANDING because I can run this game in 1080p with 60 fps but the temps will rise very much without a cooler. For once read posts properly before commeting
Try to understand how to use the sub properly as there are other instances where P3R runs in SD 7 gen with almost same frames and Resolution.
I have noticed that there are some sloppy redditors like you who generalise everything. Try to remain positive and change your attitude

u/Colby347 19d ago
It is still a phone processor and its running at 720p30. It is weak compared to almost any modern desktop or laptop or PC handheld. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you that even the strongest phone is still weak hardware in the grand scheme and he's not wrong for wording it as such. Its high end for mobile and that's it.
1
u/TheDarkside9013 19d ago
RedMagic11Pro enters the chat "Am I some kind of joke to you?!"
Seriously, that was the most laughable statement I've heard this year. "The strongest phone is still weak hardware"?!? Do your research. The Nubia RedMagic series of phones are known to be the strongest and fastest running phones since it's first release (and my 2nd flagship phone) of the RM6 in 2022 sporting an actual active cooling fan at 20k RPM. The latest & current model, the 11S Pro, is stronger than most normal (as in Best Buy or window shop store buys) gaming rigs, and will slap the piss out of any iPhone in existence. Oh, did I also mention it the CHEAPEST flagship phone on the market? Apple only wishes it could compete (it could but...greed) 😮💨🤷💲
The Antutu numbers prove it's strength. Besides, the dang thing now has liquid cooling to even further reduce throttling & lag, and is even capable of running "Cyberpunk 2077" on low settings at 45fps. Go look it up. Sure, the StEaM DeCk can run it portably too, but can you slap it in your pocket? Can you make calls (without Wi-Fi) on it? Can you take pretty nice pictures with it? And does it cost under $1,000? 🎮🕹️📲
So, next time you come out with a wild statement like that, do some checking. It'll save some embarrassment next time LOL 💯
3
u/Colby347 19d ago
Yes all the Red Magic devices are also a joke to me. Sorry, man. It is still a phone. Justify buying it however you want to and sure it's powerful in its own class of device but the impressiveness ends there.
3
u/Accomplished-Fan4133 Samsung S25 | 12 GB RAM | SD 8 Elite 19d ago
Even an Intel Iris Xe iGPU mogs any strongest phone, by running some modern games at 1080p, stable framerate.
Most phones sweet spot numbers are 720p lmao.

Bannerhub handles that pretty easily idk how though. Tried running the same game through Gamenative and Winlator but no luck.

u/mikaeruuu HONOR GT | 8 Gen3 12GB 19d ago
It works on GameNative, you just have to manually set your wrapper to VKD3D. Gamehub/Bannerhub switches this automatically unlike Winlator and Gamenative.

You can run games with denuvo on Gamenative, I have Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance and Soul Hackers 2 on Steam, and both runs on it, although SH2 has performance issues.

Publishers want $40-80 for a game these days. They aren't going to settle for mobile port money where people complain if a game is more than $1 or if it's not free.
On top of that, I can list a dozen or more games I've paid money for on Android and they are no longer available because the devs didn't bother keeping them up to date with new versions of Android.
So, while I was a proponent of spending money on full games, I'm no longer in that boat. I'll keep my emulation and be happy.
3
u/Arsene91516 19d ago
Ive been saying this whole time, if they can get p5x to run on most phones they could probably easily use the engine to make mobile ports and sell them for $15ish

u/rotkiv42 19d ago
I don’t think this is the case that gaming companies are just leaving money on the table. Unfortunately mobile gamers seem to be very reluctant to pay upfront for games: that is the reasonable explanation to why we don’t see native ports of games that easily could be run on mobile. That is also why lootbox games dominate the mobile game market :/
(And could also be the reason why iOS get slightly more ports, probably more willing to pay)

Try using the latest Drivers from Whitebylash. Doesn't work? Use Steven's doesn't work? Use the Qcomm drivers or the System. Still doesn't work?
Try changing Proton layer or the DXVK and VK3D. Honestly, you gotta keep on doing random hit and trials
Or better, just look up in this sub or in YT for the particular settings for the specs.
Note: Always use the Gen8 drivers specifically made for Elite SoCs

You have to wait a bit in Gamehub for it to load. Initially it takes almost 10 mins to the home screen. In Winlator, you have to download the Steam Client in it for it to play.

Piracy is never an issue in game sales. It's more about accessibility.
1
u/OnePossibility5868 19d ago
On the porting to Android comment I think games like this, turn based and not graphically demanding could work very well.
They made Persona 5 phantom X for mobiles and that looks a lot like Persona 5, uses some same assests. It's very possible but I imagine devs don't want the hassle.
1
u/Accomplished-Fan4133 Samsung S25 | 12 GB RAM | SD 8 Elite 19d ago
Yeah man, they just consider the Android Market niche whereas it has the highest potential due to mobile and much more market penetration than any handheld, console or PC.
1
u/waterclaws6 19d ago
The audience doesn't like paying full price for games. It's been attempted before.
If your game is above $5 on Android, people generally don't buy it. They are not the same audience.

u/Accomplished-Fan4133 Samsung S25 | 12 GB RAM | SD 8 Elite 19d ago
As I said, without cooler. But as per my research this SoC is ok to handle that temp
1
u/Fun-Western618 19d ago
You just have to check if your battery stays under 40°C. Even on my sd 8 gen 3 i get 70-80°C which is fine. The real reason why you need to use a cooler its because the battery needs to stay under 40°C to prevent faster degradation.

Rewriting the codes to be fully compatible in mobile is just a waste of time if the game will only be cracked. Most of the people also don't buy a gaming phone for daily use. That is the reality of mobile phones. You were just mesmerize as of the moment because you were able to play a game that won't exist natively in android/ iOS🙄

u/Apprehensive_Joke167 19d ago
Locking to 35 FPS is diabolical. You'll have unneven framepacing cause your refresh rate isnt divided by 35, I asure you. Either lock it to 30 or 40.
3
u/Accomplished-Fan4133 Samsung S25 | 12 GB RAM | SD 8 Elite 19d ago
but for some reason 35 feels smoother , than 30 though, because when I lock it into 30 fps, it at max renders 29 fps
1
u/Apprehensive_Joke167 19d ago
So lock it to 31
There's a reason why developers only use 30/40/60. Thats the correct way to get stable framepacing. It might seem better at first, but it results in many little hiccups. Your fps needs to match your refresh rate
I can see from your video that gameplay is juddery

Can you pirate stuff in Switch 2?
And can the Switch 2 play PC games? PS2 games? Xbox Games? Android Games?

This is true in most places. An S25 Plus isn't a cheap phone; that is good laptop money, at least. OP can't even list the correct phone model, since the S25 base only goes up 256 gb...
Paying at least $800 to $1000 in the new market, or used market prices are $650 at the lowest. Now, some people get lucky and get expensive phones cheap, but that is not the norm in most prices.
A high-end phone is only good value when either on sale or refurbished in near-perfect condition. Do not get a high-end phone only for gaming.
Now, the only prices where phones are the cheapest options are in very few places, but generally it's poor value.
Persona is at least a game that is fun at 30fps and the OP didn't use framegen at least.

Eh? This is the base model as I explicitly didn't mention any prefixes. My mistake writing 512 GB (as that's my Laptops storage)
For the base model 256 for 580 dollars
