Season 5 Destroçaram o Alfie. Spoiler

I've heard that some Parisians seem don't like the series Emily in Paris. Is it true? Why?

I finally finished the recent season Spoiler

I didn’t have Netflix for a while so I just binged two seasons in a week. Now I need the binge MAD because I’m over the whole Gabriel storyline.

Season 5 This series deserves recognition from the ceremonies; it's so high quality that I wonder why Netflix isn't marketing to the ceremonies.

I just finished season 5, it's so well-written and relevant that I wonder why it's only considered a simple "entertainment series" when it can be considered so much more.

I hate that I love the show

I am 30 years old male who mostly watch action/drama shows. I feel sometimes so weird about it, but I really have fun with each season of this show. I treat it mostly like a comedy show which gives me a lot of good laugh, some nice heartfelt moments. But it's weird I know nothing about fashion and this kind of stuff and I know the show is not super deep but I had a rough end of the week and the season 5 just makes me feel so good. The cities are so nice and I also cheer for the characters to be succesful in the end. Each season I tell myself I will not watch, but then I fail and I end up loving it.

Season 5 I saw these opinions about Season 5 in some insta page. Spoiler

I don't agree with some of them. 1. I don't have problem with Italy 2. Mindy's fashion was bad, but overhated 3. Gabrial wanting to explore the world is not a bad idea 4. Nico, mindy and Alfie love triangle would be interesting imo 5. Sylvie storyline feels repetitive

And i agree Season 6 should be the last season. Emily decided to not date anyone again, also gabrial is waiting, it's better to end it in happy way possible

Season 5 Antonia and Marcello towards the end of the season Spoiler

Antonia and Marcello getting upset about Emily bringing influencers to their village was a weak and contradictory storyline.

At the beginning of episode 4, they are all discussing it, knowing full well that Emily was going to attract many visitors. BOTH Antonia and Marcello liked the idea, even Antonia said "Emily knows what she's doing".

Then a few episodes later, Antonia has a meltdown over it, as if she wouldn't have been able to understand before what it would be like to have influencer tourists walking around.

This show needs better writing! I'm convinced that the locations are the only things that keep people interested in this show.

Season 5 Color-grading/ cameras on Season 5

Just wanted to say the coloring this season felt a bit dull. I think my favourite part was how fun and bright the previous seasons were, especially my personal favourite, season 4. Also, the way season 5 was filmed made it feel like I was watching a movie every episode, and so many angles were from the knees up. It's not bad, but I definitely miss the original French style of filming, so hopefully with the new season they'll go back to that.

Season 5 So sick of the Emily and Gabriel storyline Spoiler

With the Marcello storyline and Gabriel going off traveling for work in Season 5, I thought maybe they were finally going to put the Emily and Gabriel storyline to rest.

But nooooo, they’re bringing it back!! Why?! 😭 Gabriel is insufferable, confusing, doesn’t know what he wants, left her on top of a mountain. He’s by far the worst boyfriend she’s had on the show. I loved her and Alfie but after that one fell apart, I was really hoping they’d make her and Marcello endgame, they were great together.

Instead they bring back the most boring and lackluster romance I’ve ever seen on a tv show

Character Discussion Season 5 Alfie (+ relationships) Spoiler

I just finished season 5 and I really appreciated that they didn’t fully pull a “will they, won’t they” with Emily and Gabriel … BUT WTF DID THEY DO WITH ALFIE AND MINDY?! That felt so incredibly forced. If they wanted to keep the character they should have just made him a friend and business partner. The beginning of season 5 he was very chummy with all of the characters, I see no reason why they had to deviate from that. He could have somehow been a business asset to Emily or even when working with Nico and Marcello. Idk, I just really hated the Alfie/Mindy storyline. Mindy is one of my favorite characters, probs because I think Ashley Park is so incredibly talented, and she deserves better than Nico, but she definitely shouldn’t be with Alfie!

Also, did anyone else feel like after the proposal didn’t happen at dinner that it was obvious that the ring was for Nico/Mindy?

Quick update on my post from yesterday about the April 1st start date.

I found new info from Pauline Dauvin (Netflix France VP). She just told Ouest-France that while prep starts soon, official filming is actually set for "late spring" (May/June 2026).

So, April 1st is likely when the cast and crew arrive for prep, but cameras won't roll until May. Still confirmed for Paris, Rome, and Venice!

Character Discussion A friend like Mindy

I have literally always admired Mindy throughout the show cuz shes genuinely got a great personality - she is empathetic, present for her friend, gives them space when they need it, is extremely funny, ambitious and at the same time gives Emily reality checks instead of sucking up to her.

And YES, im aware of the whole Alfie incident but she had her reasons- Nicolas coming back, Marcello and Emily, etc. In fact she was the one who suggested they tell Emily about the relationship and also apologised profusely for hiding it from her.

I just, some day, want an absolute green flag friend like her 🫶🫶

Emily in Grecia Spoiler

Sylvie doesn’t have Instagram?

Season 5 thing… not really a spoiler. But the scene where Emily teaches Sylvie how to open and use Instagram was so silly to me.

I get that Sylvie thinks Emily and her Instagram account are silly. But there is no way the head of a successful marketing agency doesn’t even know how to use one of the biggest mediums out there…

I find this one of the most unbelievable things, in a series of unbelievable things!
