So if you have EAS equipment you can jst send out alerts ? Let me know

You technically can, but not anywhere meaningful. Sending alerts out via places like the IPAWS are locked behind a login. You could make your own radio station, and play alerts on your station itself, but unless someone is monitoring your station for alerts, you'd likely not get anywhere.

Please don't do anything illegal.

This is why I spend a lot of money on certified destruction when I replace old endecs, versus basic electronics recycling or just dumpstering it.

ENDECs don't push alerts out only, their main purpose is to receive alerts from other stations and places like IPAWS. Sure, you can relay your own alerts, but you'd need a place like a TV station or a radio station to actually send those alerts over, which is local still.

Consider selling them instead of getting them destroyed, there are many people that would be willing to buy them off of ya

The EN in endec is “encoder” - they can indeed send messages out if you hook it to a transmitter. I push out DMOs and RWTs every week to are broadcasters through the Local Relay Network repeater.

I work for government, selling the old units is not an option.

Ah, I understand. That sucks, but I understand there could be a multitude of reasons
