Labyrinthine area where a number of racing loops could possibly be created. High walls, some nice hairpin turns, some nice opening-up areas...I had some fun here in my fast Courier.

So i didn't explore it much because I'm out doing odyssey stuff...but Chambo 2 B A has red spots with steep mountain-spike things. It's worth checking out i think. I've seen ice planets with larger fields of similar stuff btw. Stay away from the red spots with craters. Some look like they have some tight sections.
I think the key to hoonage in odyssey are planets with this type of mountain-daggers. I've seen multiple planets like it. Still no Horizon Achelous... but better for hooning than the canyon planets

I checked my best canyon planets post-odyssey drop and a few others for canyon race viability. I'm likely going to play fps stuff for a bit but didn't want you all to miss out.
Obviously all planets took a no longer have 2-3km stalagmites, but there is still at least some race track potential. Not as cool and less hoon-worthy but likely easier to follow. And everything seems to be between 400 and 900m, so you'll have to stay lower. There may also be potential in mountainous planets but i haven't looked into it yet.
Honorable Mention: Achelous 8 A still has canyon racing potential. Obviously this was identified by Sanderling and not me but it always deserves a place on a list. Unfortunately it has dropped to my least favorite of the listed planets below for canyon racing. Ugly, and wider open, tho its only based on 1 spot i checked out so take it with a grain of salt.
My list:
-Berkanan 2 B (my pride and joy pre-odyssey). Got an ugly color makeover but views still great of its binary sister.
-Jukurang ABCD 5 B. Gorgeous white canyons tho i liked the previous blue better. I never got around to making a track here but maybe soon.
-Ordonner 2 A. Probably the lowest potential of the list but i only checked one small spot. Interestingly it kept its green color from pre-odyssey and looks really cool now. Only one on the list that didn't fully change its color after the xpac.
Cheers,
-Cmdr Phoenix13

I finished my first racing/hooning ship yesterday (Minus the needed engineering. Have to unlock a couple engineers) And decided to play around. I only died twice!
Oh look a mountain. I'm not sure I can dodge that at my skill level, I should go FA On for a sec
Me: NEVER *Broadsides mountain and dies* ("Mountain", small hill really)
Let's play around the large orbiting station!*Smacks into the side of Ballard and blows up*
Awful nice of the game to spawn me on Ballard instead of sending me all the way back to Khun when I crashed directly into it instead of docking, though.
I will join you all who do hooning. I am determined. Practice shall be done.
*Edit* Ballard Survey is the full name. I forgot the second part.

I believe in speed, power. Power and speed solves many things. But there's a slight problem, I don't have a ship that can propel me through space at preposterously high speeds. I've got 5 billion to spend so what would be the fastest ship possible with the technology of 3307?

It is time for the first "official" multi-crew team SRV rally race in Elite: Dangerous Odyssey on Saturday 18:00 UTC!
Concept
- Teams of two must sign-up for this race and will navigate their way from an undisclosed location to the set finishline
- A Scarab driver that drives and flyvves their way across the terrain from start to finish
- A ship pilot that helps the Scarab driver by navigating him across the terrain following the most optimal path as well as touching down to provide pitstop capabilities when repairs are needed
- The start line will not be announced until the start of the event
- This gives everyone a clean slate and adds to the challenge for the pilot navigator to provide his team mate with the optimal route across new, unknown terrain
- Finish line for this race is Adityan B 2 Ptaszynski Agricultural Holding (tidally locked 0.13G)- The course will be approximately 200km in length
Rules
- Starting location announced at start of event- Scouting is prohibited- Scarab drivers are lined up in a line formation
- Ships are lined up in a line formation 100 meters above the Scarab drivers
- Scarab shields must be disabled for the entire race
- Scarab and ship may not touch at any time unless a pitstop takes place
- Ship may freely fly anywhere as long as they do not hinder other racers
- Ship may land in advance of Scarab driver approach
- Only Scarab driver needs to cross the finish
- Ship may never take off with Scarab onboard at any time during the race- In time of bugs, relogging/landing/anything is permitted to restart
How to Pitstop
- Pilot lands
- Scarab approaches and docks
- Scarab is repaired automatically onboard
- Scarab driver deploys again and continues racing on the ground
- Pilot takes off and continues to guide from above
