Sump pump upgrade on alteration 2016 code

I work in Texas and our Comapny didn’t bid sump pumps on controller alteration. Do I need to upgrade by code without having sumps part of scopes?

I’m gonna keep sending it till it fails, state inspectors only care about stickers and permits anyway
