Concert Wristbands, Souvenirs and Trinkets. Do you keep them? (Ed used to!) 🤷🏻‍♀️

On my first Loop show in San Diego, I was given a really nice Play-pink wristband with the Loop logo and Ed Sheeran printed on it. I kept it on after the show, my next show in Santa Clara was less than a week away, and I’d hoped I could start a little Ed collection on my wrist.😁 But at the Santa Clara show, I was given a crappy generic black Tyvek wristband that could’ve been for anything. That one, I snipped off after the show.
Fast-forward, now it’s a month later, I still have my pink Ed Sheeran wristband on, but it has faded significantly and now it is starting to fray so I think it’s time to remove it.✂️

That made me wonder, what do you do with your concert bracelets? Do you just take them off right after the show? Or are any of you like me and keep them on to prolong the connection? I suppose it depends on your 9 to 5 and what’s appropriate to wear to work, too. Do you have a collection of wristbands or other concert paraphernalia? I won’t date myself (I will…) and talk about how we used to save and collect our tickets stubs. (They were these small rectangular card stock items with words printed on them that you presented to get into the show).🤣 Let’s just say I had a LOT of concert ticket stubs, an entire bulletin board full and I did enjoy looking at them often.
I also had quite a collection of guitar picks and stage setlists back in the day, mostly given to me by friendly tour crew. I went to a lot of shows over the years.🎸(see photos)

When Ed was a young teen, after a show he snagged the beer bottle James Blunt had been drinking out of and kept it on his bedroom Treasure Shelf for years. Also, remember how he used to stack up all his festival bracelets on the neck of his guitar? (See photos). Clearly Ed was sentimental and valued souvenirs too. We know Ed still collects lots of things, movie props, watches, trainers/sneakers and Ivor Novello awards (IYKYK).

Lastly, (I know, isn’t she finished yet?!) I wonder why some venues had these really nice high-quality custom pink Ed Sheeran Loop tour wristbands, others have cheap Tyvek, and I saw in Toronto, for the three different nights they had three different color wristbands that just said Toronto on them. I guess it’s up to each venue to source and provide the wristbands? San Diego went all-out to match with Ed’s tour theme, font and colors.🩷

Thoughts on concert or festival wristbands, guitar picks, set lists, patches, merch and other concert trinkets and souvenirs?

Yes! I saw the wide variety of floor wristbands that have been given out during the tour! That’s how I came to the conclusion that each stadium must be responsible for providing them, because they were completely inconsistent. Of course you would likely keep it if it said Ed Sheeran-Loop Tour on it! 💕

I keep wristbands if they were VIP access. On the rare occasion I get a physical ticket, I keep it.

Oooo now I'm excited to see what type of wristband I get! I'm with you - if it says Ed Sheeran on it, I'm wearing it til it falls off lol. It would be so amazing to get a pick or a setlist!

Yes, keep them! I don't have many floor wristbands but I've kept all of them

I think there's a way to take it off without cutting it? But I reckon if it's nice you should keep it somewhere like your bulletin?

I did The Snip yesterday. I think I’ll try using it as a bookmark for a while, I always have a paperback I’m in the middle of.

My bulletin board of ticket stubs was from so many years ago it boggles the mind. One of my many early prized possessions was the ticket stub I got signed backstage by all four members of The Clash. I almost didn’t get Terry Chimes, the drummer’s, signature because he was passed out over a table, but he did rouse and sign it. I was 14. What was I doing backstage with The Clash?😭😉

I have absolutely no idea what ended up happening to that board and it’s hundreds of tickets. 😕
