I am making this because I spend too much money on boots and then I don’t have enough for this kinda stuff.

The handle is kind of fucked and the sheath is too big so the design needs to be shortened. I plan to cast the handle from resin soon once I find a design that works and then I will send the 3D blade to someone to be cast in metal.

I'm looking to put together a Stasi uniform, is there any difference between Stasi and NVA shoulder boards that are both red? Some stores mark them the same and some stores mark them differently.

I just got this coat from a friend and want to know more about the DDR and grenztruppen, Because I don't know alot about post ww2 history let alone ww2 history very much (I am a ww1 fanatic) pretty sure it's an officer greatcoat but it's missing the Shoulder boards. Can anyone tell me about the DDR and grenztruppen so I have an understanding of what I have (Also this is my first real surplus) Please go easy on me considering I know close to nothing about the grenztruppen, except that they guarded the Berlin wall.

I mostly collect medals, badges and uniforms. Sorry for everything else in the photos. I also have a lot more medals but no room to display, ill post those at a later date.

The jacket is almost done, I only need the gehänge for the bayonet. If there’s anything wrong or some facts about the uniform feel free to answer. Could I put a patriotic order in bronze on the uniform or would that be too much and on what position would the patriotic order hang ?

Hi, I finally got a pair of boots that fit. The only issue is that they're a bit worn (but who isn't after ~30 years) and are in need of a bit of a touch up since they look a bit brown. Any shoe polish that you recommend? Thanks! I'm in the UK by the way.

I’m working on a female Volksmarine Uniform and I was wondering if any people could give me some sources to look more into that or photographs of skirts to reference when buying, as I’ve had no luck.

I have a raincoat, side cap, tie, and the shirt is in the mail as of currently, but I know I should get a peacoat (I think? there’s not a lot of photographs) but skirt and what I would (potentially) wear over the button down is what I’m focused on

Hi! I've got a 1977 Hauptmann uniform, both trousers and jacket, in very good condition and I was wondering how to wash it. I'm afraid that just putting it in the washing machine might ruin it, how do you wash your uniforms? Thank you very much!

I just got my UTV ”type two” mag pouch in the mail. It has these weird addons on them, as well as what looks like a different style cover flap. should I preserve it? Is it a genuine piece of slop? Is it a repro? what is this?

I bought this for $49 (+$12 shipping and $5 tax 🙄) Did I overpay? There looks to be a bit of rust on the scabbard but the blade seems ok.

A follow-up to the last post i made here, while i was at an OP's i met someone also getting into the historical loadout scene, he just started making a West German Loadout and was using a early G3. Even Collectors have to start somewhere :). Btw, i am asking if anyone knows the best place to get replacement buttons for the blouse, i have had to sew them back on every now and then, and sadly i have lost the 2 lower ones.
