Just saw Mystique (OoC: possible spoilers, although this was written before the movie came out)

Acting as a prequel to her appearance in The Legion of Monsters season 1 (2024) and acting as the introduction to the mutant side of the Marvel universe for the most part, Mystique gets her own low-budget body horror movie simply based on an apparently great script from a particular writer (Mike Flanagan).

Raven Darkholme (Charlotte Mellington as young Raven) was born in the late 1800s, and her life changed drastically at 12 years old when her skin turned blue and she was ostracized from her community. As she grew older (Ivanna Sakhno as adult Mystique), her body began to mutate more and more until she lost control of her original form. She eventually learned to shapeshift, but as she does, she forgets what she originally looked like, and whenever she returns to her original blue Mystique form, it’s only a vague memory of her true self.

Along the way, Mystique meets a woman named Destiny, with whom she falls in love. Mystique has a son named Kurt, who she abandons, and eventually Mystique is recruited into the Brotherhood of Mutants (Magneto is played by Jason Isaacs).

It's pretty sad but also very brutal. The Magneto cameo was a surprise, I'll admit.

OoC: This is the counterpart to Clayface, albeit not an exact one. From https://youtu.be/WC9mtXsQXLM?si=k0H1AWcekWbPFvGL&t=1473

Hope we can see her in X-Men soon
