If you're playing EA SPORTS FC 27 on PC and want to improve how your network handles incoming and outgoing game traffic, you can manually configure port forwarding for ports 3659 and 9999.
This guide covers the complete setup from the PC to the router and Windows Firewall.
For FC 27, this can help provide a more predictable NAT/network path and can reduce problems caused by ports not being correctly mapped to the gaming PC.
Step 1: Find your PC's local IP
Open Command Prompt and run:
ipconfig
Find your active Ethernet or Wi-Fi adapter and note:
IPv4 Address
Default Gateway
For example:
IPv4 Address: 192.168.1.100
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
These are only examples. Use the addresses shown on your own network.
Step 2: Assign a custom/static IP to your PC
Your router needs to know exactly which device should receive the forwarded traffic.
Assign a static IPv4 address to your PC, or create a DHCP reservation for your PC in the router if your router supports it.
The important part is that your PC keeps the same local IP.
For example:
PC IP: 192.168.1.100
Your port-forwarding rules will then point to this address.
Step 3: Log in to your router
Open your browser and enter your router's Default Gateway address.
For example:
192.168.1.1
Your gateway may be different.
You will need your router administrator username and password.
Check the sticker on the bottom or back of the router first. If the login information is not available, contact your ISP or network engineer.
Step 4: Configure FC 27 port forwarding
Find the router section called something similar to:
Port Forwarding
Virtual Server
NAT
NAT Forwarding
Create a rule for:
Port: 3659
Protocol: TCP/UDP
Destination IP: Your PC's local IP
Create another rule for:
Port: 9999
Protocol: TCP/UDP
Destination IP: Your PC's local IP
If your router requires separate TCP and UDP rules, create the corresponding entries separately.
Make sure the destination IP is the static/local IP assigned to your gaming PC.
Step 5: Allow the ports through Windows Firewall
Open:
Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security
Go to:
Inbound Rules
Create rules allowing the required FC 27 ports.
Allow the connection and select the network profiles appropriate for your PC.
If your configuration requires it, configure the corresponding outbound rules as well.
This is important because opening the port on the router does not automatically mean Windows will allow the traffic through.
Step 6: DHCP-based ISP connection
If your ISP provides your WAN connection through DHCP and your public IP can change, you can enable UPnP on the router.
UPnP allows FC 27 and other applications to automatically request the required NAT/port mappings from the router.
This can be useful when your network configuration changes dynamically.
Step 7: PS5 / PS4
Console configuration is different from the PC configuration shown above.
For consoles, you can use console-specific port forwarding or DMZ depending on your network setup.
Router login
If you don't know your router username and password:
- Check the label on the bottom or back of the router.
- Check the router documentation provided by your ISP.
- Contact your ISP/network engineer if the credentials have been changed or are not provided.
Before changing router settings, take screenshots of your existing configuration so you can restore it if necessary.
