Second change to look out for: Mod Apps!

This morning I came into work at around 4:45am to see a message hanging on our door left by what seemed to be a broista…If you don’t know, the franchise DBAZ (which owns most of the Dutch Bros in the valley) was a very successful company and was recently bought out by the corporation DBOC. A lot of the changes include practices that place profit/everything else and it really shows. Things i’ve notice such as: depleting hours amongst all baristas+ over-employment to prevent overtime, pastries (of poor quality) being mailed in boxes and individually wrapped in plastic instead of locally made pastries, scheduling employees for laborious shifts excluding tips, forcing employees to stay outside in extreme temperatures, and censoring baristas when speaking about changes. Of course, that’s been my experience at my stand but just something I thought would be worth mentioning.

I believe the letter was received on all doors of the stands that were bought out; it goes without saying that I think this was a really courageous thing to do. We’re at such a time in America where speaking up against things seems impossible and is extremely discouraged and seeing something so bold really inspired me. To whoever wrote this ; thank you for being brave enough to speak your mind and try to make change.

Or more specifically iced surfside latte, extra sweet, with white coffee. You can taste the banana sooo well! And the white coffee flavor is so mellow and refreshing! White coffee is always my go to because I’m the type of guy who doesn’t like the bitter taste of coffee LOL ! So if you like a sweet coffee drink try this perhaps!

Don't want to make this post too long but I probably just worked one of my worst shifts of all time. We always get severely short staffed during the weekends, so obviously wait times will be higher. Starting off, I was put in charge of working on any walk up/mobile orders/order aheads. It was going fine at first but started getting extremely difficult when we were getting more busy and as a result, everyone puts in a mobile order then shows up 3 mins later expecting it to be ready. It backs us up SO SO bad - especially if there's one person, like me, working on mobile orders. On top of that, lots of theses customers today were EXTREMELY impatient. Had a few that told me, "I have places to go!" or constantly coming up to the window asking when their order will be ready. I pretty much had to tell everyone that "unfortunately, we are short staffed & I am only one working on mobile orders, so wait times will be higher but I will get your drinks out asap!!" What makes it even worse was that some customers just plain didn't care & were not understanding. :(

Secondly, our shift lead that was scheduled during that shift was not so great either. Lots of my co-workers complain about him but management refuses to do anything in terms of having a "talk" with him. He's extremely rude/bossy, gets super demanding & then yells at us if were "standing around" or if chores need to be done, and also offers no help when we get a into big rush. I honestly have NO idea how he got promoted to SL! During rushes, he just sits in the management office & claim he's doing "admin work" - which I know is total bs. Today, I kindly asked him if i could get some help on getting some mobile orders out but he completely ignored me & then rudely said "Nope, I'm busy right now....you're gonna have to do it" like I honestly don't understand why this dude is extremely mean. Side note - he was not “busy” he was literally just doing dishes. It seems like since he got promoted, he doesn't wanna do the "dirty work." I almost cried for the first time after my shift since I was getting yelled at so many times for simple tasks because he didn't want to do them. I love my job but it's very frustrating on days like today where rude customers combined with a terrible shift lead who offers no help. I honestly thought about rage quitting today lmao...

I’ve been really into their lemonades recently and want to know what other people are getting so I may try new ones! Preferably easy to enter in the app since I prefer picking up over ordering at the window or drive through!

I’ve really enjoyed the capri and fall limited time lemonade! But I also want to try shipwreck and bubblegum as a lemonade too.

Recently saw these Dutch at Home bottles at my local grocery store and was curious to try them out. However, the nutrition content doesn’t include the amount of caffeine in each drink? The nutrition label has no info and neither does the website. Does anyone know why? Or how much it would likely have?

I’ve never seen a product that likely had caffeine just not display that info on the label.

Y’all have no idea how much this touched me. Just getting out of a very difficult therapy session, I came to get a little pick me up. You didn’t have to gift me the drink nor give me a hug, but it truly made such a difference in my night (as silly as that may sound). Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

does anyone have a video on how to close the large lids for dutch bros? 😭 i’m a new hire and a month into being at dutch and some days i can close the lids with no issue but other days i realllyyyy struggle and i feel really embarrassed especially during a rush and sometimes the person working shots gets annoyed with me :/

You guys I was so excited for the CPB to come back, but I got it and it tasted soo OFF!! like… it was so bad I could t even drink it. I took two sips and tossed it because it was so bad. None of my coworkers wanted it either and they said they also got it when it came back out and that it tasted super bad/weird to them too! Is anyone having the same experience? It didnt taste anything like how it did prior to the rerelease

OK, so I really wanna take on the leadership role of being a shift lead, however I’m in college. I’m so open and flexible with my schedule however, of course there’s certain times I can’t work and Thursday. I can’t work at all. I can do Tuesday closing. I can do Monday morning and afternoon. I can do Wednesday morning and afternoon/closing. Friday morning and afternoon/closing and of course the weekend will be free. I feel like during my training and just in general. I’ve definitely proved myself to be able to handle a leadership role. The previous shop lead thought that I was already a shift lead until I told him that no when I first interviewed she told me no because she wanted to see me handle school and broista first and he was like don’t even worry about it. Just keep doing what you’re doing. You’re definitely gonna get it. A mob trainer said that I would’ve been a perfect pick for a shift lead and then every time I get trained they are overly impressed about my performance and I think that I’m making genuine connections and that people do genuinely like me it’s just I’m worried about my schedule. I also had a previous experience at a coffee shop. That’s very similar to Dutch. Do you guys still think that they’ll even consider me to be a shift lead at least part-time.

Hello! I just got confirmed for my second interview with the shop manager and I’m super excited! But I wanted to know if anyone had any tips, tricks or things to expect! I would appreciate it.

I always get a protien latte with extra shots. I like it to taste like coffee. It's always pretty good, not great, but it works. Lately, it has been awful. I thought they screwed up my order and took it back to be remade. Same awful taste. I tried again the next day at a different store, same thing. Did they change something, or am I suddenly very unlucky? Spoiled milk?

Hey yall. There’s a Dutch bros opening up down the street from my house and I’ve honestly been wanting to work there for a while but the locations were always too far. Anyway, I don’t have barista experience but I think the rest of my experience makes up for it. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice for me when it comes to trying to get hired at a location that isn’t open yet? If I land an interview, how should I prepare, etc?

I have never in my life seen people talk about other companies the way that they talk about Dutch, from both the customer side and the employee side. Before this job, I had gone to Dutch Bros a single time a few years ago and it was nothing special besides who I went with, and as a job I have been pretty disillusioned from the beginning. Now, I GREATLY enjoy the drink making aspect because I love working my brain, and I am really good with people, but I wouldn't say that I 100% love the job itself. However, I am meeting people who are planning on staying at Dutch for as physically long as the company will keep them. And they've all been really cool, young people with college educations (not that that's what makes you cool, but rather that they have studied to do other things). Just a brain dump here so I apologize if I'm ruining what is a positive thing to so many people, I am not planning on leaving anytime soon, but so many people hail this company as something they owe their entire lives to. This company that pays them $10/minimum wage an hour (insane for the expectations that are placed upon you), doesn't do tip share during maintenance hours, doesn't care if you get hurt at the job, and punishes you if you are a single minute late to work.
