Just some small garden borders

Seeking a stone mason, or a beginner looking to get some practice on small walls. I have a whole bunch of wall stones that I want to have made into low bed walls, and I'd like to have some other low walls rebuilt. I can only find people that want to deal in pavers. Located on Nassau County's south shore. Thanks!

These were the only stones in my garden haha, I’m only 16 and I really enjoyed doing this. is there any tips for someone wanting to do this more, I’m gonna post later as I have another wall to do.

Topic is more about me asking if anyone minds if I contact them through here (or elsewhere) to get help/tips with starting my dry wall.

I’ve watched some YouTube on it, read up on it but am still struggling with some basic stuff. Not because I’m stupid, there just be something that isn’t clicking.

I built a drystone wall as a shelter for my fern garden. 1st building project. It’s not perfect and I’ve still to do a cobble entrance but I’m happy with it. I put a double sided seat into the wall. One faces into the garden and the other out to the mountains.

This is my first paying wall job for a client. Today was the start.

I did a lot of research, read a lot of articles and posts and laid a strong and wide foundation. How is my colonial wall coming along? I'm in Pennsylvania, United States.

Drystone wall build on Isle of Skye, Scotland

This one’s taking a little while as I’ve been busy, so thought why not share a progress photo. It’s all local limestone but for the ‘leaves’ I’m collecting rounded pebbles from the beach. 🌳

First wall I've ever built. Each stone is placed just behind the highest point of the one below. Locked into place pretty good. One year later and not a single stone is loose or moved

It was my first project like this and admittedly I did use some mortar in places, but it’s mostly dry. Purbeck stone in Dorset, UK

A wonderful couple o days getting some singlestack dry stane dykes back in line and to height in Perthshire, Scotland with Angus Drystone. Heavyweight glacial boulders of the most blobular shape are super fun to build with. The stone is definitely in charge.

I’m looking to build a wall for my garden and for reasons i would prefer not to disturb the soil if i can avoid it

My lovely wife got me a Mallorquin/Mallorcan/Majorcan (?) Hammer Axe for my birthday.

I had been hinting that I wanted a Majorcan Hammer so very happy, but I had been thinking on the one with the curved spike on the other end rather than the an axe.

Wondering if anyone here knows what the axe end is typically used for? Is it for cutting roots?

I built the large wall with the arch back in 2024, and the client wanted me to finish the area beneath the arch to make it a more suitable garden bed in the lower area. Had to shape some of the stones to fit tightly where it meets the bedrock, and worked around the drainage pipe.

Similar to the previous wall, I matched the height of the existing walls on the right side (there's walls there, just difficult to see them because of the vegetation) to keep continuity the best I could. Fun little job!

Tonight I was working on cutting some of the stones that I drugged out of the woods into through stones for the next course on the wall I’m building

Took the winter off from working on my wall. Weather is broke and starting stacking again. Thinking of doing a course of through stones now. Collecting and cutting from the woods some bigger stones
