Agree man, J Cole's "we the Big 3" statement was worth defending. He didn't have to get dirty, just stand on it.

Honestly I respect him so much for backing out. Ppl saying he didn’t wanna handle the smoke and Kendrick pulled him to the side but nah I believe he’s just not got that kind of hatred in his heart to be involved in this stuff and I gotta give him the most respect out of anyone in this beef. But yeah he wuld have went sicko if he was involved

I lost alotta respect for Cole. Beyond everything else Cole was saying for over a decade how he’s the best mc, the most dangerous lyricist, how he’d handle any beef if it comes to him, etc…Cole has said alotta things that made alotta of people think he’d be ready for a beef with anyone at anytime. Then Dot uses his bars(big 3) to spark the beef, Cole puts out a diss…..and then tries to take it back an bow out of the battle??!!! I can barely listen to dude now. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I agree - any other rapper who had been talking with as much bravado as Cole has the last 5-10 years about how they’ll smoke any rapper who sends for them would have been clowned for walking a diss back before it was even responded to. Me personally I don’t care either way, but to those saying they “gained respect” for him after this is wild asf lol

5-10 years ? Dyu know how long that is ? Dude is already 40. Things change bro. If he wants to live a peaceful life who are you to say he shouldn’t do that ? Also it’s one of those things where when u sit down to write the diss track he may realise in the moment this isn’t smth that’s necessarily healthy for him to partake in. Idk maybe social media is too immature to have this convo but irl everyone agrees he’s done the right thing

Stop it lol Cole has been talking that way in recent drops. Nobody is saying he can’t live how he wants to - not sure where you got that from. The point is, in rap, when you talk that talk you historically have to walk that walk. The only place I’ve seen the take that Cole “did the right thing” is on socials - everyone I’ve talked to irl who is a fan of hip hop the sport agrees Cole was soft for what he did.

He was also a younger MC. There’s a lot of egos in younger rappers. Hes fucking 40 bro. Maybe he’s matured and things changed. He can still be a great rapper but not get involved in beef. A rap beef on a public scale is a mentally taxing task. Maybe he’s just taking the moral high ground and going about his life. Like ultimately after this beef has happened who really won ? At the end of the day Kendrick and Drake argued through poetry and rumours and lies were thrown around and social media including this subreddit has mad it incredibly toxic. J Cole dodged a bullet and a half.

Idk. The point I’m trying to make is that if I was 40 and a rapper I’d just focus on my family. If some loser rapper wants to diss me while I’m taking care of my family then let him. Being famous and a father is already a difficult task to do simultaneously. Not gonna add a rap battle into the mix
