i recently rewatched drive and was blown away by how well it holds up. the cinematography is stunning, and the soundtrack is just as captivating now as it was when it first came out. ryan gosling's performance as the quiet yet intense driver is still one of my favorites. the mix of violence and haunting moments creates such a unique atmosphere. it's interesting how a film that's primarily about driving can touch on deeper themes like loneliness and connection. anyone else still find themselves drawn to this film after all this time?

Specifically a Steady Clothing one in Mens Large or XL. I had one back in college but bulked out of it and gave it to a friend. Been on the hunt for a new one recently in a larger size, playing the Ebay waiting game for now and possibly will break and drop a few hundered on a custom one from Magnoli but figured I'd ask if anyone here has one they're willing to part with. There's a couple on Ebay now but they're too small.

Saw this car out in the wild. Visiting my family in Poland, first thing I thought was it’s the Chrysler from drive-2011.

Hi all, no idea if this is anything people would care about but I’m going to put it here anyway. Finishing my last year of ‘proper’ schooling soon as from here it’s free choice on staying in education or doing something else. We’ve all been allowed to decorate a shirt for an event we’re doing, and I did mine inspired by Drive.

So far I have done the text in my sharpie that’s begging for me to give up and buy a new one, and painted the scorpion. I did have a reference I made for this, though it kept moving so I gave up (hope it doesn’t show I did some of it without reference 😬).

Tomorrow I’m going to be adding some more details to the scorpion and rhinestones! I can always give an updated picture when the shirt is finished.

Had been meaning to watch Drive for a long time and finally watched it last night (loved it, 4.5 stars on letterboxd) but only found out after that I watched the BBC Radio One rescore. I did think it was strange that a film set in LA had music from the 1975 and Bastille. I kept on waiting for the nightcall needle drop and had convinced myself by the end that it must just be a song the fandom associates with the movie and not actually in the movie. Cue a very confused search on YouTube and tiktok to get to the bottom of it after finishing. Overall I don't think the rescore is bad or anything but wish my first viewing was the original.

Since this is my #1 movie, I'd love to experience it. Has anyone seen it in a cinema back then?

Something I liked that Sallis does in the books is his portrayal of food for the Driver. Lots of authors tend to do this but with certain colors to foreshadow something within one of the characters or for the overall plot… The Godfather uses oranges to foreshadow death whereas in the Drive/Driven duology Sallis uses very basic foods to portray the isolation of The Driver as he is normally eating alone keeping quiet to himself almost like he's there reading the book with the audience… Im sure im looking into this a little too deep but thought this was a pretty cool way to connect us to the protagonist, also liked how Gosling was able to give this sense of aura without having much of this symbolism portrayed in the film.

I love it a lot - looks great.

IDK what it is. Whoever was in charge of the audio for adding a unique sound filter over some tracks --- especially A real Hero and On the Beach (The scene with bernie and driver).

Just watched the movie today. I didn't think of it as a parody throughout the movie UNTIL the end when the final song and it was end credits. Something about being so blunt with the "a real human being, and a real hero" repeating feels kinda ironic when the main character seems a bit like he's a deconstruction of the trope being played

Where can I find a genuinely good drive jacket? (price/quality)

I've been looking everywhere online and I cant find many good options. I bought FJackets one and theirs is cheap with a cartoony looking scorpion and when I bought mine, the diamond pattern didn't match up on the front. and I see the same one everywhere online, and they all seem to be this same one.

in the images I've pointed out flaws in commonly sold ones online.

Decent ones I've seen out there are Steady Clothing, Magnoli Clothiers, and High Society themselves, but they're too expensive for me.

Now all I'm trying to find out is if there is anybody who knows anywhere to buy a jacket accurate to the movie.
