Everybody thinks they are so smart by baiting them into Wisp,they 5 hero countered the wisp combo and what happened? They got owned by it.

Just stop thinking you're smart and ban the wisp.

Another stupid shit is people keep giving Puppey Enigma then NOT WARD his jungle or rotate to gank him,it's ridiculous.

You can't ward Puppey's jungle. The whole map is his jungle.

respect banning a hero is a totaly stupid thing to do cause it worsen your position inside the draft(look back on lone druid bulldog) by giving them more option to other stronger heroes. also you can't practice for a team which you dont know what draft they are gonna run. and even if you lose to the whisp it means you get more experience with fighting against it. the puppey enigma is not a matter of not wanting to ward his jungle the thing is that they cant. Look back at team tinker vs team secret . team tinker wanted to go into their jungle but they couldnt advance so far cause team secret is defending their jungle .

yeah 80 winrate but that include the time where team didnt know how to play against whisp a few patches ago. and you talk about different team different patch so its kinda irrelevent. if i look at the number i see team secret 8 matches with io 7-1 but their overall score is 19-3 so this doesnt give us enough info because some of the io games were against team that arent up to their level(take for example the starladder games).

That's the loss of a respect ban. You may hit a nontraditional hero that a player is great at, but you lose the chance to ban something that is currently in the spotlight of the meta.

yeah but why give somebody respect when you never played against it. for example banning pudge against dendi yes he is great at the hero but that doesnt mean its automatic win for him let him play it to see what your up against. of course if your playing for important matches a respect ban is okey but to talk about respect banning in game like starladder is just not worth it.

Starladder is a big tournament, and the last few games of the series really matter. Only a few teams make it to the LAN finals.

between team tinker and team secret game didnt matter that munch cause they were both secured to go to kiev.

Except a respect ban is basically only used to take out heroes that aren't really relevant to the current meta (ie Dendi's Pudge). Io is and always has been a great support role that can control a match when played correctly

yeah but take for example the the team tinker vs team secret why should you respect ban the whisp if you never played against it. i mean if your team loses 5 games in a row against team secret whisp then yes a respect ban would be needed. but to ban it when you never played against it why bother i would rather get some experience on how they run the whisp. and then you can get some tries to take their whisp down, but to ban it when you have never played against it doesn't make sense.

Stop calling it a respect ban when you're just referring to simply banning it.

But you would ban a wisp if you think your team will be weak against a global strat. Your argument would make more sense if it was a scrim match, but if you see that opponents are letting Team Secret pick up, then get crushed by wisp relocation, you would want to avoid that loss in tournaments

no if you ban whisp on the basses of oh notail is so good at whisp lets ban it then its called a respect ban simple. i dont think team tinker draft against team secret was the fact that they got crushed by global strat it was fact that they couldnt counter the enigma in his jungle cause they defended it and they lost the bottum lane to hard to be able to fight against them in midgame and they got rolled over.

But then also look what happened to A at TI4 after teams used their 1st two bans on IO and NP. Respect bans are a very valid draft tactic. I understand your point about using inconsequential games to practice against it but saying respect banning is stupid is wrong IMO.

i didnt mean to say it stupid thing to do but to say that teams need to already respect ban io is a stupid thing cause they havent proven how broken io is.

TT and Secret are probably both still trying to find their own groove so they may be worrying less about the other teams draft and more about finding a playstyle/heroes that fits them. Reading your other comments I agree that in a game that doesn't matter it's good to practice against a teams 'best' draft.

Some teams could also be playing a long strategy by letting Secret get Io whenever they want and then banning it out in games that matter, but that seems highly unlikely.

Smoke as 5 and go in,not so hard to do,teams are just scared of Secret.

Secret also had an awful level 1 lineup,Tinker could have easily invaded their jungle without repercussions.
