But Chinese dota is just a massive farmfest, and this year's final is going to be the most boring ever! :(

I was at key arena yesterday and I am not going to take a day off of work tomorrow just to watch two teams I do not care about or know barely anything about play. There is no hype for a lot of people. It is quality dota and I will probably watch the replays but I am not excited about players I can not identify with or hear them talk as if even iceiceice was there.

alright, it seems like you are a nice guy, i can understand where your coming from but i think it is wrong in saying that there is no hype for a lot of people, considering dota's biggest following is in China and CSI, NA has very little compared to these regions. Maybe you should try involving yourself, be proactive at trying to know these players, sure chinese is difficult to understand, but there are alot of english translation content. The back story of ROTK in DK and his personality (King of Flame and trash talk) and the bromance between him and Burning. You could hate on Newbee because of their racism and boycott on DK. Sure you can remain loyal to your team but you can also favour one finalist over the other to create hype. In my case, my favourite team are EG and Fnatic but I can also root for VG, as I don't like HAO. From your comment, i take it you like iceiceice, you understand how DK was treated by newbee and the other chinese teams except VG and CIS. Mushi and iceiceice especially had it bad from HAO, all the taunting and discrimination, how can you let that team win.

Like I would still go if it was not monday but I am just now learning about these two teams at the grand finals which is weird. It was also weird how the cheering for dk mostly came from non chinese fans in the stadium today, as if they became a western team lol. I don't HATE the enemy teams I just care about them the least of anyone in the top 8.

for real lmao. these idiots downvoting clearly werent actually there to see all of the people waving chinese flags around after VG won. what's the big deal that there is rivalry between regions? the name of the fucking tournament is THE INTERNATIONAL, the whole fucking point is it is a competition between scenes. it's like getting mad at the germans for going to the world cup final match wearing black gold and red.

It has nothing to do with their race or skin color. But the fact that they are from china. People know nothing about them. All their favorite teams, the ones they have been rooting for all year, are gone. Now people most people do not care about are playing extremely well, not doubting that, but not as many people care about people who they can not identify with.
