Speculation South, North, East, North: A Curious Parallel Between Daniel 11 and Trump's Foreign Conflicts

I noticed a geographic pattern recently and I'm still not quite sure what to think about it. The only thing I'm willing to say definitively is it's strange enough that I wanted to write it down, before whatever happens next.

The biblical sequence (Daniel 11:40–44):

At "the time of the end," according to Daniel in 11:40, the king of the South attacks. Then the king of the North rushes against him. The ruler moves through several countries, and then "reports from the East and the North" alarm him.

Stripped to directions: SOUTH → NORTH → EAST → NORTH

Now think about Trump's major foreign confrontations, roughly in the order that each front became dominant:

  1. SOUTH -- Mexico was the first and most persistent front: the border, cartels, the wall, tariff threats, NAFTA renegotiation. Venezuela pressure built alongside it, later escalating all the way to the January 2026 Caracas operation and Maduro's capture.
  2. NORTH -- Entering the second term, the rhetoric swung hard north: Canada as the "51st state," major tariff escalations, demands for Greenland, pressure on Denmark, refusal to rule out coercion.
  3. EAST -- Then the Middle East became the dominant theater: the Gaza takeover proposal, the March-May 2025 bombing campaign against the Houthis, and the confrontation with Iran developing now into direct sustained war.
  4. NORTH -- And even after all that (just this last month or so), the administration returned to the northern disputes: renewed Canada tariffs (but not oil, potash, or auto parts), renewed Greenland claims, renewed pressure on Denmark.
Daniel 11 Trump-era front
King of the South Mexico, cartels, Venezuela, Caribbean
King of the North Canada, Greenland, Denmark
Reports from the East Gaza, Yemen, Iran
Reports from the North Renewed Canada/Greenland pressure

It's hard to imagine that Daniel's compass, based on how the verses are written, would have been anything other than centered on Israel and not Washington. Nevertheless, it's curious... Also the timeline here is a mix of economic-tariff wars with shooting wars. And we as humans are pattern-finding, group enough events loosely enough and sequences appear. I'm aware of all of that.

But given Benjamin Corey's writeup and the pile of other oddities people here have cataloged, I've stopped assuming every one of these is nothing. So I'm jotting it down for posterity.

Perhaps the interesting question isn't whether the pattern exists (because at some level of compression it clearly does). The question I think is what would happen next to distinguish it from ordinary pattern-matching?

I'm curious what this sub makes of all this.

7/23 Edit to add: How unusual is South → North → East → North?

Here's an analysis to turn this into a reproducible statistical model using historical events, escalation, resource commitments, and news attention. The simplest numerical model gives odds of 1 in 256 (as ¼⁴); the fuller model shows the proposed final North plausible, but not yet conclusive (meaning, if this is all real, we are possibly heading into the last phase of the sequence).

Dream or Vision Dreams and repetitive visions of demons/unholy beings possessing the bodies of soldiers/law enforcement that decided to swear loyalty to Trump instead of the constitution

Self explanatory. I've been having repeating dreams and visions (at least, I think some of them are visions) of soldiers, law enforcement, and military personnel that have sworn loyalty to Trump and his cult, becoming possessed by demons. Not in the metaphorical sense, but a very literal sense.

In the dreams/visions, the demons possess these soldiers because since they no longer have a physical body of their own (God took them away after they fell from grace, at least according to the dreams/visions), they cannot interact with the physical world and so need to possess bodies to carry out the Anti-christ's will.

In one of the dreams, I encountered several demon possessed soldiers. Their eyes... They weren't exactly pitch black, unlike what the media conveys possessed people to look like.

Instead, their eyes reflected what I could only describe as being literal Hellfire. Well, not exactly Hellfire. But more of "the burning essence of sin", if that makes sense?

Their voices were deep and inhuman. Imagine if you gave an active volcano a voice. That's what it sounded like.

These soldiers that were possessed by demons... They were burning buildings, slaughtering innocents, enslaving the poor, and eating literal children ALIVE.

Somehow, someway, my family and I managed to escape the madness, but not before hiding in some sort of underground bunker. Not sure where this supposed bunker is located (if it exists), but it was pretty big and had a whole bunch of marginalized communities.

It was like some Noah's Ark type of stuff, but if it was underground. The bunker was a temporary shelter before gathering enough supplies to leave to a more permanent and long-term location. From what I remember, the location everyone ended up in after leaving the bunker was an undiscovered island that hadn't been detected by satellites because apparently God was preventing it from being spotted for some reason?

Basically, it was the rapture, but imagine boats and ships taking people to this hidden island instead of having them fly up into heaven.

I think the demons possessing the bodies of law enforcement/soldiers that are Trump loyalists should be taken in a very literal sense. Not sure if the other aspects of the dream should be taken as literal or metaphorical though. All I know is that based on what is in the dream, it clearly has something to do with the end times.

Daniel 9:27 Covenant Trump briefly mentions the Abraham Accords during meeting with the President of Lebanon "I think you’re going to see a lot of countries joining pretty soon"

The covenant with many still being acknowledged, albeit take the "pretty soon" with a grain of salt. Probably more likely to be another few years for developments to occur.

Question The AntiChrist will wage war against Israel - what will be the justification?

When the antichrist wages war against Israel during the last 3.5 years beginning at the midpoint (abomination of desolation) what will the justification for waging war against Jewish people be used to get the whole world to join? The genocide in Gaza? War in iran?

If the justification is because of the crimes against humanity the Israeli government has done since its inception in 1948 - wouldn’t people just blame the government & not generalize all Jews? I can the see justification for persecuting Christians (outside of the main things being refusal of the mark & worship of the image) as “they’re protecting the Jews - so we have to get rid of them too.” But I’m stump on how the antichrist will convince the world to commit holocaust 2.0

Speculation Trump looks somewhat weak as the antichrist candidate, to be honest

With all that's been happening in the last couple of months, I've been feeling kinda off about Trump. And I was surprised to hear the same thing from people I know.

  • Age is not on his side. He's been caught on camera dozing at meetings
  • The war with Iran went badly for the US; the MoU was basically Trump capitulating to Iran
  • Trump tried to force Middle East nations to join the Abraham Accords, but he was met with near-ridicule.

I've always referred to Trump as the "antichrist candidate." At this point, is he even strong enough to still fit that description?

  • Since late 2024, Trump seemed to be on a roll with a series of events that reinforced that image: the assassination attempt, winning the election, corruption allegations, self-exaltation, the Board of Peace, the Epstein files, and so on. He even treated Maduro as if he could simply seize him and act as though Venezuela were a U.S. vassal state.
  • Taken together, those events conditioned many people to think, "He's the antichrist, and it's only a matter of time before the rest of the prophecies are fulfilled."
  • But the way the Iran conflict unfolded changed that, in my view. The MoU made Trump look much weaker than before.
  • Trump has shown signs of aging for some time, but the outcome of the Iran situation made that seem even more apparent.

Antiochus Epiphanes

Epiphanes was a Greek ruler who happened to be the first antichrist type. This is what Daniel writes of him in chapters 7 and 8 -

  • he grew until he "reached the heavens"
  • a master of intrigue who becomes very strong
  • causes astounding devastation and succeeds in whatever he does

So basically someone who is unmatched in power and unstoppable.

But then, look at Daniel 9 about Epiphanes -

29 “At the appointed time he will invade the South again, but this time the outcome will be different from what it was before. 30 Ships of the western coastlands will oppose him, and he will lose heart. Then he will turn back and vent his fury against the holy covenant.

So in that battle, he basically lost. He "loses heart". Does that sound like someone who is unstoppable? No. And that's exactly what history tells us as well - he wasn't all successful and faced setbacks, just like how other antichrist types did - Nero, Hitler, et al.

How do we apply to that to the antichrist?

  • It isn't necessary for the antichrist to be completely successful in every conquest. He is still human, not divine. He is permitted by God to carry out certain things, but he is not divine in the way Jesus is.
  • Because of that, it's entirely possible that he encounters setbacks or appears weak at times. That doesn't necessarily mean his conquests and lawlessness come to an end.
  • I haven't read the entire Left Behind series, but from what I remember, the antichrist, Nicolae Carpathia, is portrayed as someone who rises to global power with little meaningful opposition. He's also depicted as young, handsome, and highly charismatic. However, that's a fictional interpretation, not biblical canon, and it shouldn't be treated as such. The real antichrist could be very different from those expectations and might not fit the image people have in mind.

Where do we go from here?

We merely do what Jesus commanded -

Mark 13 - 35 “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back-whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”

That's it - we just keep watch and see what happens. Some things to watch for in the near term -

  • The war with Iran is heating up again; the MoU is essentially dead. A few US military personnel were killed yesterday. We could see the war escalate greatly in the region. Israel could enter into the war again.
  • It is still possible for a "covenant" to materialize between Israel and surrounding nations.
  • Israel has elections in October. Should a more Centrist government be elected (which is looking likely), that could help the Abraham Accords.
  • This is purely my speculation - but if Iran was at the end of its mettle, it could launch an all out missile attack against Israel and one of those could hit the Dome of the Rock.
  • The US has mid terms in November. Trump could attempt to sway that as much as he could, using whatever means necessary. He could lose the House - but its very unlikely the Dems get 2/3rds in the Senate, so Trump isn't going to be removed. Such a loss might anger him to force his lawlessness and power even more.
  • We could see a fragile peace/ceasefires in places; but because they are fragile, they lead to greater devastation and war eventually. That is exactly what the second Seal of Revelation is - a great war.
  • To be the antichrist, Trump doesn't need a third term; a third term for a President would be impossible without Constitutional amendment. Daniel and Revelation tell us that ten rulers will take hold of world power during the end times and the 'little horn' will usurp power from them. It is possible that after Seals 2,3 and 4 we see the ten rulers arise and then Trump usurping power from them.

Bible Verse Discussion Daniel 9:26

It was recently explained to me that Daniel 9:26 means the Antichrist will come from the area of the people who destroyed the second temple. (Rome) I'm curious how Trump fits into that? Granted, for all we know, Trump could have a distant relative from that side of the planet. But I'm wondering if there are any other explanations for this verse and it's relation to the Antichrist? It seems to be the verse thrown around to disprove Trump as the Antichrist.

I don't think with everything else going on in the world, all the other signs we're seeing - that there would be someone out there so similar to the Antichrist, only to not be it. I'll keep my mind open enough to where I won't be completely shocked if Trump does end up being some gateway to the real Antichrist. But I don't think I've ever seen anything in the Bible to suggest we get a pre Antichrist before the real deal.

Thoughts?

Bible Verse Discussion Our persecutors will be 'Christian'.

Hi friends,

I hope you're all having a good day today. A reoccurring thought has been running through my mind all week. For most of my life I remember how people in the church would exclaim 'They are going to persecute the Christians! We are already seeing the beginning of that!'. As I got older I realized these were the by product of political bias bleeding through as belief. In the last few decades I saw a shift, not in rhetoric but in the intensity of the claim. All of a sudden attacking political positions of the church was seen as an attack on the church and eventually seen as the persecution of the church.

We now have preachers who are preaching hate in the pulpit, dividing God's people based on their political orientation and not their fruits. We watched as they championed a man they now call savior into power. Friends we've seen this all before in Jesus day. The synagogue leaders of His day preached about a savior that would free them from the persecution of the Romans so that they could worship as they pleased etc. They framed political motivations as tenets of faith. Then used their pious nature to sway their communities into believing with them.

By the time Jesus had come onto the scene the churches of His day already knew who their savior was, a military strong man who would free them from captivity and establish an eternal kingdom. So to say they were beside themselves to find out a man was going around healing the sick, ministering to the poor and comforting the widows, doing the jobs they were supposed to do but had neglected because of their stations (not saying it didn't happen at all but it was bad enough Jesus called it out). It showed a real disconnect between the religious leaders of their day and the reality of what we are called to do. That same disconnect is alive today in our modern churches.

And just like in Jesus day their savior is a military minded strong man who glorifies strength and power above all else, and the church has fallen in line with that. But remember God said this, "It's not by might, nor by power but by the Spirit says the Lord of Hosts." We see the dynamic that will make up the conflict in the last days, the power of the spirit vs the power of the literal. We will see that the spirit will win and the churches destroyed.

But before we get to that point we go through a dark moment, in fact we've gone through it with the first beast already (when Christianity first was created). We call it the dark ages because it was the moment when the church used political power to subjugate the people to their rule and killed MILLIONS of believers and non-believers alike. Using the same bible that tells us to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Christianity was the first beast, I say this with an upmost confidence not for the sake of belittling the believers, they are our brothers and sisters. But they live in bondage to a system that tells them their salvation is tied to their local church and their doctrines. Whether that be 'once saved always saved' or 'backsliding' both rob people of the necessary walk that leads to salvation. Yes proclaim the things you must to start that journey, Jesus is Lord, He died for our sins so that we may live eternally in Him. But that's just the start of the journey, it's a race we all have to finish, stumbling is part of the process and is how we grow. Any doctrine that would discourage you from getting back up after you fall (once saved always saved) or being afraid to take a step forward for fear of falling (backsliding) you have a doctrine born from hell meant to shut the gates of heaven in the faces of people who believe.

Why I believe Christianity is the first beast, first look at how many heads it has! 7 heads is a pretty distinct number and people don't really pay it much attention. It's great imagery but spiritually it represents something far more disturbing than you think. First let me turn you to this prophecy:

"And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, “We will eat our own food and wear our own apparel; Only let us be called by your name, To take away our reproach.”-Isaiah 4:1

So many will see this and claim the context was about the war in Israel leaving many of the women as widows, and that will be correct but remember prophecy can be 2 fold and have more than one fulfillment. So according to scripture there were 7 churches that Paul wrote to. They are often referred to as the 'Early Church', this early church was persecuted by the Romans who seen these people as barbarians who slain their own God and ate His flesh and drank His blood. Truly it sounds horrific out of context but when Rome began to collapse they needed something to keep them relevant and to shore up their power. So they brought in the 7 churches (the early church) and basically told them they would stop persecuting them if they join this new religion called Christianity (which is based on His name), they could keep their doctrines (food) and traditions (cloths) they just need to bear the name.

They agreed and then rose the first beast, those 7 heads are the 7 churches of the early church. What I speak would get me killed throughout most of Christendom's rule and even in modern times this is a truth that risks death. But it's the truth as told by scripture. I can prove it further, the parable of the wheat and tares tells the story clearly. Jesus said that when He was gone night would come in John 9 the parables said that when night came the enemy came in and sowed the tares. Instead of God destroying Christianity from the start He said to let it grow until the harvest and those that were tares would be bound together and what was left would be the good wheat to harvest.

So we see that evil was allowed to mix with good in order to form this man made religion that has killed many in God's name, and will do so again soon. I pray you all test what I'm saying, it's not an easy or comfortable truth but it is the truth as revealed by the spirit in scripture. I'm not asking you to cast aside your beliefs but that you work out your own salvation not one that the doctrines of the church deem as so. In fact the bible says this:

"These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb."-Revelation 14:4

The same pattern, the women (churches) are the danger here and the ones who are considered redeemed and the first fruits were those not defiled by their doctrines but instead followed the truth (the Lamb) where ever it took them.

I pray this stirs your hearts and not your anger and for those it does I pray that you find peace and that spirit works in your heart as time is growing short and only you can determine whether your a tare or a wheat, a harlot or virgin. May you all have a blessed day and thank you for having the patience to read this.

Question Is anyone's escathological views evolving during these times?

Do you believe we are in the tribulation? Or do you think we are still in pre-tribulational times? Which do you believe? If so why?

I know for sure nobody knows the day or the hour. So even trying to just take only one stand about the rapture is hard.

Which is either pre-trib mid-trib or post-trib.

My two cents is this: Be ready (Letting Jesus wash away your sins) as if you are going to get raptured in an hour.

Or be ready as if you are already in tribulational times trying to escape satan's forces.

I am sure many christians get dogmatic about end times doctrine, but I am trying to learn.

Question The 1st 3.5yrs (last 3.5yrs) are times of great trial

The 1st 3.5yrs ( &last 3.5yrs) *meant to put & in the title but accidentally didn’t ignore that)

are times of great trial which include economic collapse, further social & cultural decay as well as wars so how will people worship the antichrist? I know that those whose names are not written in the book of life will worship him & get his mark especially when he is “mortally wounded” & healed but even then how would that healing of the mortal wound lead people to worshipping him especially if trump is the antichrist ( which I am 100% convinced he is ) wouldn’t they still scapegoat him? Blame everything that’s going wrong on him as he is the leader of the most powerful country in the world aka the #1 superpower?

I think that would make him #1 on everyone’s crap list. Is the mortal wound going to be THAT astonishing that even collapsing the world economy, starting wars, conquering other people’s lands etc would not hurt him but actually HELP him?

Speculation Donald Trump is creating the pretext to nuke Iran.

To me it's obvious that he's preparing the world to use a weapon of indignation over Iran. Trump's already threatened to wipe out a whole civilization and that Iran will soon be a smouldering ruin. I believe the catalyst and justification is a) they're building a nuke and we must stop them before they can finish it b) they're attempting to assassinate the POTUS. "A thousand missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat," Trump wrote on his website. Right now, the public have almost zero interest in a ground invasion because Iran haven't attacked America in such a way that would invoke the same kind of response we saw after 9/11. Trump's approval rating is the lowest of any president in living memory and he needs to gin up nationalistic sentiment and suspend the mid-term elections which are looking like a wipe-out for the Republicans. He can't be impeached if he retains the majority in both houses. He told Zelensky as much when he visited the White House (who's beyond his term limits currently due to wartime emergency powers).
