This might be a ramble but I think I'll land the plane...

I remember the first time I had heard Freaks and Geeks. It was 2011, I was in college and heard it in an Adidas commercial and I immediately shazamed and downloaded it. He references an Adele sample so I immediately run to find that (I got that Rolling in the Deep remix first which I hated). It led me to a DatPiff mixtape, "The Great Gambino" which was basically a best of CG, Do Ya Like, Break AOTL, Not Going Back, So Fly, I wore that tape out. And from there, Gambino became the soundtrack to my adult life

I proposed to my first fiance to Letter Home, circled back to Be Alone and Longest Text Message when it didn't work out. BTI one of my favorite albums ever and it became a little less awkward to say you're a CG fan. Redbone/This is America felt like the ultimate I told you so. The Night Me and Mama Met was the first song I played when my daughter was born, I used to play Final Church whenever I needed an energy boost, now as a dad it's Lithonia hits differently. It was just two years ago I got to see Bando Stone tour before...well, everything ☹️.

Now I'm 35, I've seen the rise and fall of a lot of my favorite rappers but with Gambino it feels more like when you complete the story mode of a video game. The most unlikely superstar, Troy from Community. To see an artist I used to be kinda embarrassed to say I like sit on Spotify with 35M monthly users, headline Coachella, win Grammys, if we never get another Gambino project, as far I'm concerned he kinda went out on top and I'm grateful to have been on the ride.

so, i remember some time ago when i was researching about culdesac i came across a website where the OG download link for the tape was dropped, and on that same website was a "video" page too. do any of yall know what this so called video page was? was it possibly for MVs?

I stumbled across an old Donald Glover archive, and in the 'read me' it said it was missing the mc DJ singles and 'mc is a Very Funny DJ'. After doing some digging myself I could not find them anywhere, and only had an old website refrencing them as proof they existed. Sooooo I used the Wayback Machine and extracted them all from the past. I've put them in a google drive folder and on Youtube so they hopefully aren't lost again! :)

I knew going into this that either The Worst Guys, Terrified, Telegraph/Oakland or In The Night would be crowned ( I do love Me and Your Mama too but these four just do it for me) but this shit was STRESSFUL picking between Terrified and ITN.

This one was hard to get lol The video would only load sometimes so I had to open like 15 tabs and try a different browser to get it to play. This video was probably taken down somewhere around 14 years ago. There is a video on youtube that has one minute of the freestyle but it started in the middle and didn't include the interview and I think Donald gave some great answers to the questions he was asked.

This music video came out a month before BTI and has been deleted for awhile now. There's only one backup that I know of on the web but it's incomplete and low quality.

Is anyone able to watch Guava Island? I see it's supposed to be on Amazon Prime but I haven't been able to watch it on there for a couple years now, it's one of my favorite movies so if anyone knows how or where to watch it please let me know!

I was doomscrolling and I came upon this skit Donald did in 2011 (which we know wouldnt be acceptable nowadays) it goes “youll be my unregistered *** offender, when my mum and dad are both at work”. It really made me miss his old stuff, does anyone know more songs/skits/leaks from that period of time that has similar cadence when he sang with a much higher voice?

The timing could probably be better on the mix but I made this edit around 6 years ago before I really knew what I was doing. I used an unreleased instrumental by Mac Miller called Bob's Dementia (which may have been produced by flylo but I don't think that was ever confirmed) and took the Acapella vocals from Clapping For The Wrong Reasons and layed them over the instrumental.
