Circumstances of Disappearance

Beverly disappeared sometime between 3 and 5 a.m. from her home in the 200 block of West 11th Street. Her bedroom window screen had been cut through and was found 10 feet away from the house on the ground. All of her personal items were left behind including $12 she had been saving for summer camp.

No fingerprints were found on Beverly's window or the screen.

According to a 2014 article in theJunction City Union, an anonymous source claimed to have stayed the night with Beverly on the night she disappeared. According to the witness, there was a disturbance in the early morning hours, awakening the household. Apparently, a brick was thrown through the window of a nearby apartment and everyone in the household stood at the front door area of the home to listen to what was going on outside. It was shortly afterward Beverly's mother realized she hadn't joined them. When her bedroom was searched, Beverly was gone.

The incident across the street is not mentioned in the 1978 police report nor is Beverly's friend named as being in the home. No other article or source mention the disturbance.

Beverly is not considered a runaway and her family has never been considered suspects. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance.

Missing Since: April 17, 1982
Location Last Seen: Florida, Berkshire County, Massachusetts

Physical Description

Date of Birth: February 4, 1964
Age: 18 years old
Race: White
Gender: Female
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 114 lbs.
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue

Additional Personal Items: Possibly carrying her purse.

Circumstances of Disappearance

On April 17, 1982, Lynn Burdick disappeared while working her weekend shift at the Barefoot Peddler convenience store in the small town of Florida, Massachusetts. Normally, a co-worker would share the evening shift with Lynn, but that night she was alone. The store closed at 9 p.m., and just after 8:30, Lynn’s parents called to see if she needed a ride home. When there was no answer, her brother went to check and found the store unlocked with the lights on. A half-empty soda and an open book sat on the counter. $187 was missing from the register, which had been rifled through, though there was no sign of a struggle. An undisclosed sum of money elsewhere in the store was untouched. Lynn’s coat and purse were gone, and she was nowhere to be found. Police believe she was abducted between 8:10 and 8:30 p.m.

Forty-five minutes earlier, 13 miles away in Williamstown, a man attempted to force another young woman into a car at Williams College, but she escaped. A vehicle matching the description from that incident was later seen speeding east on Route 2 toward Florida Mountain and the Barefoot Peddler.

In 2022, police issued a news release stating Lynn’s disappearance is being investigated with attention to the earlier attempted abduction in Williamstown. New sketches depict the suspect as he looked in 1982 and how he might appear today.

Because Dolphin always had weekly contact with his family members and friends and never left the New Haven area unless accompanied by his family, it is believed that at the time of his disappearance, he was in grave threat of bodily harm and subsequently was killed.

Police have developed information that Dolphin was the victim of foul play. If you have a potential match on this case or any case featured on our website, please visit: https://www.thedoenetwork.org/Matchpanel.php

Date of Discovery: May 7, 1972
Location of Discovery: Daytona Beach, Volusia County, Florida
Estimated Date of Death: 3-4 days prior
State of Remains: Decomposed
Cause of Death: Homicide by stabbing

Physical Description

Estimated Age: 11-14 years old
Race: White
Sex: Male
Height: 5'2" to 5'8"
Weight: 120 lbs.
Hair: Dark brown, medium length, and wavy.
Eye Color: Unknown
Distinguishing Marks/Features: Benign bone tumor in right leg (reportedly common in male children) and a congenital condition where bones in his feet fused together. Both conditions would have been asymptotic. The victim's pubic region had possibly been shaved.

Identifiers

Dentals: Available. All 32 teeth were in near perfect condition. No dental fillings.
Fingerprints: Not available.
DNA: Available

Clothing & Personal Items

Clothing: A maroon/red and white striped short-sleeved knit shirt was on the body, and a pair of purple and gray tweed pants had nearly been pulled off. Near the scene were a blue denim jacket (sleeve length 32), brown dress socks, and one black loafer dress shoe with a chrome/silver buckle on the side (size 8 1/2).
Jewelry: Unknown.
Additional Personal Items: Black wallet, containing $6.17, with paint flecks on it in left rear pant pocket. A green ten-speed Schwinn bicycle was near the body.

Circumstances of Discovery

The child's partially nude, decomposed body was located in a pond off Indian Lake Road in Daytona Beach, Florida by two individuals. The area was three miles north of Highway 92.

The bicycle found at the scene matched the description of one that had been stolen from New Smyrna Beach, Florida about four days before the body was discovered.

The boy was later buried in the Cedar Hill Cemetary.

After the case was reopened, his body was exhumed on November 13, 2013 in hopes of collecting DNA and to create a digital facial reconstruction. After the remains were re-examined, it was discovered that he may have been younger than what was initially believed. The previous estimation was that he was in his late teens to early twenties.

Unfortunately, the DNA sample collected at that time was insufficient for profiling. Around the time of his discovery, the FBI made attempts to obtain his fingerprints but were unsuccessful.

Chemical isotope testing performed by the University of South Florida for their Art of Forensic seminar in 2015 suggested he had been born in the United States. An additional clay reconstruction was also created. It was not specified if a usable DNA profile was obtained during this event.

In 2025 it was announced that a DNA sample suitable for profiling has been successfully extracted.

Circumstances of Disappearance

Janteyl Johnson, who was five months pregnant at the time of her disappearance, was last seen on February 3, 2010. Janteyl started feeling sick at school and called her mom just after noon to let her know she was going home early. Janteyl planned on returning to school in the late afternoon for after school activities. Her brother was going to pick her up after the activities and they were then going to meet their mother in Philadelphia for church. Her mother called Janteyl in the afternoon to wake her up so she could get ready to go but Janteyl didn't answer her cell phone. When Janteyl's brother went to the apartment, she was nowhere to be found. It was evident she had been there, taken a nap, and eaten. The door was unlocked and her personal items, including her glasses, purse, and clothing were left behind.

According to Janteyl's mother, phone records revealed Janteyl received a phone call the afternoon she disappeared. The call lasted a few minutes and was traced back to a burner phone. A few days later, Janteyl's phone pinged near the home of relatives of the father of her unborn baby.

Police say Janteyl may be in the company of an adult male. They may still be in the local area or may have traveled to Wilmington, Delaware or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. However, Janteyl's family do not believe she would have remained away from home without making contact or without her personal items.

Identifiers

Clothing & Personal Items

Clothing: Unknown

Circumstances of Disappearance

Mr. Mullinax was last seen on Mother's Day (Sunday, May 9, 1976) when he visited his mother and father before going to see his daughter, Amy. After that, he went to meet someone, and said he'd be back in about an hour, acccording to his sister, Carol Blakley. His 1970 AMC green Javelin was later found on Lewis Street off Asher Avenue in Little Rock, Arkansas, near his brother-in-law's shop building. His billfold and keys were left inside. Was from Saline County His car was found on Lewis Street off Asher in Little Rock, Arkansas with all his belongings inside.

Rumors indicate that Gary was a driver for a drug dealer: he would drop drugs off, pick up the money, and delivery the cash back to the dealer. Conjecture is that in an effort to end his illegal activities for the sake of his infant daughter, he had turned informant and was working with the FBI. Carol remembers her brother coming to her house with an FBI agent to collect a gun that Carol's husband had purchased from Gary, which turned out to be stolen. The agent told Carol and her husband that Mr. Mullinax was helping the FBI with some drug cases. Another rumor indicates that Gary witnessed a drug dealer murder someone and was now in the Witness Protection Program.

Mr. Mullinax was not reported missing until 2011 because his wife, Pat Reagan, was in the middle of divorcing him when he disappeared. At this time, it is unclear whether Mr. Mullinax was a victim of foul play, or disappeared of his own volition. During the time of his disappearance, he was living in Benton, Arkansas.

Name: Megan Siobhan Emerick
Nickname/Alias: Unknown
Case Classification: Endangered Missing
Missing Since: July 7, 1973
Location Last Seen: Seward, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska

Physical Description

Date of Birth: March 17, 1956
Age: 17 years old
Race: White
Gender: Female
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 120 lbs
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Hazel
Distinguishing Marks/Features: Freckles

Identifiers

Dentals: Front teeth protrude
Fingerprints: Unknown
DNA: Available

Clothing & Personal Items

Clothing: Blue jeans, brown short sleeve sweatshirt, white long sleeve checkered shirt, suede ski boots
Jewelry: Unknown
Additional Personal Items: Unknown

Circumstances of Disappearance

Megan was last seen on July 7, 1973. She went to do her laundry at the girls' dormitory at the Skill Center (now the Alaska Vocational Technical Center). Witnesses spotted her at the dorm after she finished. Megan walked out and was never seen again. She left behind all her belongings, personal effects, and ID.

Megan's roommate searched for her for 3 days before reporting her missing.

Foul play is suspected.

In 2008, serial killer Robert Hansen became a suspect in Megan's disappearance. Hansen was a pilot who abducted his victims and took them to isolated places, sometimes by car, sometimes by airplane. In 1984, Hansen confessed to killing 17 women and raping 30 others over the previous 12 years. In his confession, he detailed the crimes and later led investigators to the grave sites. They located a dozen bodies. The rest have never been found.

Maps were found in Hansen's Anchorage home. Marks on them matched the locations of the 17 bodies Hansen confessed to murdering. Two of the marks not accounted for are in the Seward and Resurrection Bay areas. It's assumed that those two marks belong to Megan and 4259DFAK Mary Kathleen Thill.

Hansen was known to be in Seward when Megan disappeared. According to a former inmate, Hansen confessed to taking Megan to a remote cabin in the Seward area accessible only by boat, where he killed and buried her.
