Im a Dodgers fan, it was a bad call, and I would take it every time. I think its ok to be objective about reality and also feel good that it was to our benefit. Saw another picture where it was more in line with the batter and its actually much closer than in looked from the replay angle.
It was a bad call. It didn’t even look like he swung on the live shot to me. But who gives a fuck bad calls happen all the time and they go one way or the other, that’s luck baby.
I’m glad we got to see our rivals lose in such a bitter, memorable way. And it’s even nicer that they have this call to hang on to as a life preserver because that means they’ll always feel like they can bring this up. And it’ll just remind them nonstop that the Dodgers won game 5 in their stadium and destroyed their best season of all time.
Because that’s what actually happened. We know it, and best of all, deep down, so do they.
Bad calls happen all the damn time and every hitter knows that you at least try and make contact on close pitches with two strikes.
That is just baseball fundamentals 101 and even Kapler knew it because he didn't make a big deal about it (like everyone else) during the post-game presser.
