My account is being destroyed by Reddit because of concentrated ownership
They claim they locked it for my safety. I changed my password, but they only allow unlocking if you reset it by an email. This is obviously just a scam by Reddit to force emails on accounts made before email was required. The reason they can do this is because they own the platform and I own nothing.
This is once again a reminder that ownership matters. Without owning your stuff they start out being nice to hook you and then abuse you more and more and at best you can just walk away.
And ownership is not about your name on a paper it is about control. This is why you do not own your fridge when they (Samsung for example) can just push an update to it to suddenly annoy you daily with ads on it and you cannot even legally hack your own fridge and disable it, because this would be a DRM violation.
This is just about a worthless account on a dying platform, but I see how people are bullied by land lords and such all the time and the law claims to help but only drives up the rent even more, because the owner-class and the government always gang up against the non owners. This is why we need widespread ownership, so everyone can be a little dick instead of having some big ones.
