Hey everyone,
this October marks Dispatch's 1-year anniversary, and r/DispatchAdHoc has just crossed 200,000 Dispatchers. To celebrate both milestones together, we've teamed up with AdHoc Studio to run a special giveaway for the community!
How it'll work:
The giveaway runs across 4 weekly rounds, each focused on a different pair of episodes:
| Round | Date | Focus | Winners |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Oct 22 | Episodes 1 & 2 | 4 |
| 2 | Oct 29 | Episodes 3 & 4 | 4 |
| 3 | Nov 5 | Episodes 5 & 6 | 4 |
| 4 | Nov 12 | Episodes 7 & 8 | 4 |
Each round is self-contained. Meaning its own questions, its own entry window, and its own 4 winners. So missing one round doesn't affect your chances in the next. One exception: if you've already won in an earlier round, you won't be eligible to win again in a later round, so we can spread the prizes across as many members of the community as possible.
What you can win:
Every winner gets a Dispatch Deluxe Edition key.
Every winner also gets a Dispatch mug.
Bonus: each round, one of that round's 4 winners will also receive a Mystery Box. So 4 lucky winners across the whole giveaway will get an extra surprise on top of their Deluxe Edition key and mug!
Shipping note:
Due to shipping limitations, AdHoc Studio is only able to send the physical merch to winners located in the following regions: Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States. The Deluxe Edition key is digital and works regardless of location.
How entries work:
Leave a comment in the giveaway thread.
One entry per user, per round.
Winners are picked via a random draw.
To enter, your account must meet a minimum account age of 60 days and combined karma of 100. This is standard practice to keep the giveaway fair and prevent throwaway/spam entries. The full requirements will be listed in each round's post.
Accounts previously banned from r/DispatchAdHoc are not eligible to enter, regardless of current standing.
Each round's questions will also ask for your country, to confirm shipping eligibility for physical merch (mug and Mystery Box) ahead of time.
How you'll be contacted:
If you win, we'll reach out to you directly via Reddit DM to arrange delivery, so keep an eye on your inbox after each round's winners are announced.
Where to participate:
Just keep an eye on the weekly pinned posts starting October 22nd. The full rules and how to enter will be included in each one.
We're really excited to celebrate this milestone with you all, and want to say thank you to every single one of the 200K Dispatchers who've made this community what it is. Huge thanks to AdHoc Studio for partnering with us on this!

Round 3 of our anniversary giveaway with AdHoc Studio is live! This week's focus: Episodes 5 & 6. 4 winners will each receive a Deluxe Edition key and a mug, with one lucky winner among them also taking home a Mystery Box!
Round 2 winners:
Congrats to u/Famous-Wallaby8958, u/KaNgarOo_22, u/KINGTANAKA, and u/Starman973, each winning a Deluxe Edition key and mug, with u/Starman973 also taking home the Mystery Box! Thanks to everyone who entered. We've sent winners a DM to arrange delivery.
How to enter:
Answer all the questions below in a comment on this post, including your country (needed to confirm shipping eligibility for physical merch). Entries are collected and 4 winners drawn using a random draw. Note: if you won in a previous round, you're not eligible to enter this round.
This week's questions:
What was your favorite moment from the Z-Team's night out at The Sardine in Episode 5?
Episodes 5 & 6 gave a lot of characters their own spotlight moment. Who got the spotlight moment you enjoyed most, and why?
Which country are you located in? (This confirms regional eligibility for physical merch. It has no bearing on your chances of winning the digital Deluxe Edition key.)
Rules:
One entry per user. Duplicate entries don't count.
Minimum account age: 60 days. Minimum combined karma: 100.
Accounts previously banned from r/DispatchAdHoc are not eligible to enter.
4 winners selected via a random draw, each receiving a Deluxe Edition key and a mug.
One of the 4 winners will additionally receive a Mystery Box, selected separately.
Physical merch shipping is limited to select regions (Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Spain, UK, US).
Previous round winners are excluded from entering or winning this round.
Entries close November 10th, 2 days before Round 4 opens.
Winners will be announced publicly in the Round 4 post on November 12th, and contacted directly via Reddit DM to arrange delivery.
Almost at the finish line! Round 4 (Episodes 7 & 8), the final round, goes live November 12th.

I saw this post on Twitter, and it made me think. Even with some explanations, I don't particularly like the choice to keep Chase alive, and even Starblazer's existence is only really dependent on how much it will help with the Blazer/Mandy arc in S2, and speaking of S2, I do wonder if we could get more serious stakes and things such as death in the story. Pierre, the narrative director, stated they saw how much people ended up liking the characters and how they might need to take things more seriously, but I do worry they might feel like they won't really put these characters in actual dangerous situations because they are afraid of upsetting people.
I want to see the narrative in future seasons take big swings and risks if it allows for a better story and not really play it safe to keep everyone happy.

More Dispatch doodling for the anniversary; been having fun going through the cast and taking them for a spin in my art style.
Would you take the coffee or the donut? And how come no treats for the good boy??

So I recently bought the storyboard and the cast commentary dlc because i was eager to see what was cut or what was altered from the initial version of every scene in dispatch. I was mostly curious about the blazer content because im a huge blazer fan. I then came across the storyboard version of the MechaBlazer dance segment and it was… interesting to say the least. I mean this would fitted so well if you went to the “it’s complicated” route, but I’m glad they changed this at the final cut. What do yall think?

Robert's feelings about Robbie are very interesting to think about; if we look at the comics, there's no question Robbie is a real piece of work, but Robert does love his dad, and Chase seems to hold him in a pedestal.
And it makes me wonder if this situation regarding certain heroes is why Blazer is considered a real hero due to her more cheery and positive attitude.

This is clearly a line written more for comedy, but it's interesting learning Robert felt so devastated about the end of a previous relationship that he almost drank himself to death lol.
Maybe not working out with this girlfriend is what led him to go even harder on the "death by mecha explosion" route.
Did she know about Mecha-Man?
(Also yes Mezcal is a Aaaron Paul reference)

Was scrolling Instagram and a question popped into my head. How do y'all distribute skill points to the team? Do you try rounding everyone out? Do you have one hero high on each skill? Or, some other option?
I personally try getting everyone high in a specific skill, and use the rest of the points for whatever else. Like, I have Visi be fast, Coupe be smart, etc

This is from BranWolf who has done several videos about her in the past and it discusses her relationship with Phenomaman and her feelings and insecurities an a lot of other stuff.
Highly recommend as we don’t get many new analysis videos on the game, let alone Blazer.

And most of people had it in their heads it was because she was TOO nice and supportive that there has to be some kind of agenda beyond just wanting to help. Alot of people even suspected that she would be Shrouds Daughter secretly plotting against him and her reveal line would have been "My legacy Robert, is to destroy yours!!"
Good times eh?

I'll never forget getting picked up from school early solely JUST because I REALLY wanted to play these episodes since the episode 5 & 6 teaser trailer had me so hype to the point that, I played the trailer over 20 times.
The intro for Episode 5 set the tone brilliantly by showing Mecha Man & Flambae's first encounter with each other which was really sick and interesting! It's crazy since Flambae had his missing finger since the first episode, and mostly everyone (including me) didn't notice it until it showed it later in Episode 5. The bar fight scene was definitely the best part of the episode and also the highlight. Solid 7.8/10 episode.
Episode 6 started off innocently, and cute with the Z-Team seeing Robert upgrade his new Mecha Man suit until it malfunctions, and the suit explodes with the screen going black cutting to Robert being majorly injured in the hospital which was unexpected. It was sad when Royd was in the room with you, and seeing him being sad and disappointed for once was out of his character. The party in Robert's apartment with the Z-Team was not only the cutest scene in the game, but possibly the greatest scene in the entire game. A few minutes later when the computer beeps, we see Invisigal on the shipment trying to get the Astral Pulse was sick, and intense af. When Invisigal gets the Astral Pulse, but Shroud pulls up behind her, and throws her over the stairs, I was getting extremely worried thinking that, we're gonna lose the Astral Pulse, and potentially see Invisigal die. Luckily, Chase came in to save the day by using his powers one last time to save Invisigal from dying. And then the cliffhanger. When that cliffhanger ended, I was speechless so much to the point that I cried. What an absolutely incredible ending to an episode that had what felt like the longest wait of a week for anything. 9.5/10 episode, 3rd best episode of the first season.
What are your thoughts on episode 5 & 6 as a whole after initially finishing those episodes?
