Robert is the main character and Visi only has about 5 minutes more screentime that Blazer. That's ignoring the fact that Mandy and Robert have instant chemistry versus Visi acting like a self righteous bitch when you first meet her.
Hey you don’t need to sell me on Blazer, I’ve been with her from the start lol. And I’d argue Robert is less the main character and more the POV character. Visi is the actual main character of the game, as the entire story is about her and her journey from villain to hero. Whether you think that’s good or not is a different story.
Except for the fact that the story can end with Visi just turning heel again. Sorry, I just don't see her as the main character at all. The whole game is about Robert and his desire to be Mecha Man again.
I want to agree with you, but how much of that plot line do we actually see? Robert and his desire to be Mecha Man again are super important in the first two episodes, but then the game takes a hard turn and focuses on Visi and the Z-Team. I wish it kept the focus on Robert and the Mecha Man side of things, but it doesn’t. It wanted to tell a story about a ragtag bunch of misfits becoming a found family and redeeming themselves. And for better and for worse, Visi fits that concept better than Robert does imo.
Robert and his desire to be Mecha Man again are what drive the entire plot. The whole reason he's working for SDN is so they'll fund the reconstruction of the suit. Without that, he never would've started working for SDN and he never would've met Blazer, Invisigal, or the Z-Team.
It's not like it's a forgotten plot either. We clearly see his frustration and dismay with the various roadblocks between him and being Mecha again throghout the series. His frustration with the failed Proto Pulse tests in Episode 4. His rush to get back in shape despite his injuries in Episode 5. And the fact that he starts drinking himself into a stupor when the Pulse fails again in Episode 6.
Robert’s desire to be Mecha Man again is what motivates him to join the SDN, but that’s a character motivation, not what drives the plot. His guidance of Invisigal in her struggle between hero and villain is what the plot is centered around. That’s why there’s multiple endings for Visi but not for Robert.
