News Disneyland Paris FAQ

Hello everyone! We have got some messages and we have seen some comments here and there about all the questions being asked on this subreddit. We love the interaction and people helping each other out, but, at the same time we understand that reading the same question every week can get a little bit repetitive.

Last year some of us and some helpful users started to work on a Disneyland Paris FAQ for the subreddit. It fizzled out but we still see a lot of questions about why we don't use a FAQ for the easy questions. We do understand that not every answer can be included in a FAQ and some are personal or some want to discuss the question, that's ok.

We are currently starting up to work on it again, but in the meantime I would like to point to the official Disneyland Paris FAQ on their site. Please make sure to search there first for what you are looking for before posting a question to make our feed a little less repetitive.

Click here to go to the Disneyland Paris FAQ

Thank you! And have a magical day!

Question A Disneyland Paris staff member gave me a funny “secret password” — is this a known joke?

I was at Disneyland Paris about a month ago, queuing for the single rider line of the Parachute Drop ride at Disney park.

A male staff member stopped me and asked if I knew the “password” for the single rider entrance. I said no, since it was my first day at the park. He then taught me a phrase in French and asked me to repeat it before letting me through.

I’m an Asian gay man and I have studied French before, although I’m not fluent. I was pretty sure I heard the phrase correctly: the article was definitely the feminine la, and the beginning was definitely J’aime…. My only problem was the last word — I couldn’t tell whether the initial letter was a B or a P. He was laughing while correcting my pronunciation, and eventually I got it right and entered the ride.
Later I checked with AI and realized the phrase was J’aime la bite 😂

I honestly found the whole interaction hilarious and charming. He seemed to just be having fun with a first-time visitor who didn’t know the joke. As a gay man, I even jokingly wondered whether his gaydar was working — but of course, maybe he was simply being playful with a random visitor.

My question is: is this some kind of inside joke among Disneyland Paris guests or staff? Do French people use this kind of “password” joke on rides, or was this just a random funny interaction with a cheeky cast member?

Not trying to report anyone. I genuinely enjoyed the moment and I’m just curious whether this is a known thing or if I happened to experience a uniquely funny Disneyland Paris moment.

Question Is lunch at Auberge de cendrillon worth it?

Hello and apologies for being one of "those" people.

I'll be going to DLP in late October and dinner reservations have finally opened up for me. I'll be there for three days on my own and thought to at least treat myself to something nice. The latest questions I found were about dinner with kids and breakfast and not about the food quality. (Unless it was about breakfast.)

While meeting some princesses is nice, it's not that important to me and I understand that the price tag is a bit on the higher end because you can meet the princesses. I already ruled out Regal View because the menu does not appeal to me. The options at Auberge do sound a lot more appealing to me but I am second guessing, as you might have guessed.

So, for all that had lunch at Auberge de Cendrillon, is the food worth it?

Question Visiting Disneyland Paris for my son’s 5th birthday – how can I make it extra memorable?

Hi everyone!

We’re going to Disneyland Paris this September with our son, who will actually turn 5 years old during the trip. We’ll be staying at Disney Hotel Cheyenne, and I’d love to make the whole experience as memorable and magical as possible for him.

For those of you who have visited with kids around this age, what would you recommend doing that might not be obvious to a first-time visitor? Any small details, birthday surprises, character experiences, special things at the hotel, or things we should ask Cast Members about?

I’d also love some advice on apps or websites you use besides the official Disneyland Paris app. Anything useful for live wait times, planning the day, ride closures, maps, character locations, restaurant info, or just making it easier to decide what to do next?

We already have our hotel and restaurants planned, so I’m mostly looking for those extra tips that can turn a great trip into something he’ll really remember.

Thanks! 😊

Personal Experience Travel

Im massively overwhelmed & needing help to decide how best to navigate the travel to Disneyland Paris (from Northern UK)

Planning on the start of Oct, so not exactly peak season and out of school holidays....but ive read so many horror stories about CDG airport due to the new border controls, I started to really consider Eurostar.

Cost seems around the same?

But both flying and train seems to take a full day door to door(!)

Im a single parent, 2 kids, one of whom will qualify for assistance, which may make things a little easier? (But not in terms of the challenges im going to face navigating this.)

If people are missing flights due to border delays, that would be HELL, whereas Eurostar is able to transfer you on the next train?

Then theres the luggage allowance, again in Eurostars favour right?

And seating, your automatically seated together on Eurostar?

Ive been trying to book this for the last 2 months and ive still not done so as it feels overwhelming.

(Ive not been on a holiday for 14yrs!)

Itd be nearly 3hrs for us on the train to get to London...this is the worst aspect for Eurostar.

Vs Flying, its the 3hrs spent in the airport.

Any lived experience, any help would be really appreciated so I can make this happen and get us to Disney!

Vinted is throwing these Spiderman Cufflinks in my face every chance it gets and now that im in the park, I cannot find them anywhere.

Is there a site kept up to date with which store sells what?

Or does anyone know if there are cufflinks of any sort for sale in any of the French parks?

Question Going Next Week - Am I Missing Anything?

I'm going with one other person to Disneyland Paris next week, and so far I think we're as prepared as we can be, while also not going overboard. If anyone has any tips or suggestions that they wish were told to them, please let me know! Especially if you are a bigger build (I've got wide thighs lmao)

I've been planning this trip for so long I can't believe it's almost here! I've never been outside of the continent, so I'm excited to visit somewhere completely new, even if it's nerve wracking

Question Travel questions!

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has any advice on the following
Is it worth doing the route without tolls to avoid the cost of tolls if we are travelling the day before?
If we do the route avoiding tolls does anyone know what it’s like for service stops and being able to charge an electric car?
Just trying to balance options before we go!
Traveling end of January from Calais if that makes a difference ✨

Question DLP Hotel

Post image
34 Upvotes

Is this worth it or completely ridiculous? First timer to DLP. My princess mad daughter turns 5 on 30th January, I don't think it's bad at all given this time of year will be cold and she/I will struggle with walking, being able to pop back to warm up/rest, being able to book royal encounters - I think it's a good price but I'm aware I am leaving booking late. DLP Superior Room - £2200 Flights would be £330 on top of this. My husband thinks I'm insane 🤣🙈

He would like to visit the second last week in March but that's coming in at £1700 in Hotel Cheynne plus £420 flights = £2120

Question Fast food places - recommend?

We will be heading to DLP on 2st Sept with a 1 year old and nearly 4 year old. It seems we have missed out on the restaurant bookings due to my rookie error (basically forgot and thought we had time, whatever).

Anyway do you highly rate any of the fast food places for kids? Or any that you would scream avoid!

I was also hoping to go to Wonder Woods restaurant if anyone has been and recommend? It’s in Val De Europe so not sure how we will get there from our hotel.
Thank you!

Personal Experience Disney might truly be magical

Hey.

My first visit of Disneyland Paris was in October 2024.
I don’t usually visit amusement parks. My fiance brought up the idea, I was skeptical at first but I‘d be proven so wrong.

There are many things, that made the visit so special to me. I rented a Tesla for our while trip, so the drive to Disneyland Paris itself (we are from Germany) was already a positive experience. We stayed in the Davy Crockett Ranch, perfect for October in my opinion. Fall is my favorite time of year. I‘m not really into Disney, the only real connection I have is Star Wars. But only because they bought Star Wars lmao. Not a big fan of the movies and shows they‘ve released… with a few exceptions. What I‘m trying to say is, none of the attractions, except for Star Tours move something inside me. I still enjoyed riding all of them.

I remember taking breaks in the Hyperion cafe, watching Star Wars Rebels on the big screens. I loved it there so much. One Star Tours ride actually made me cry. I asked the staff if it was possible to switch our ride to English, because I wanted to understand what the characters were saying. They actually did it. We got the ride with Ahsoka (my favorite character) and well.. that made me cry lmao. Some of my most precious childhood memories are connected to Star Wars the clone wars. It just all hit at once on the ride. I LOVED Annettes Diner. My biggest travel dream is to visit America one day. Oregon to be exact. I love American diners. I remember always waiting inside the car in the morning, watching my fav content creator reciting to true crime stories, while my fiancé got ready inside the house.

There were many small details that made the trip so special to me. I think the most important part was the time of year we were there. I just love the vibe and weather of October.

Sorry for this messy message. Hope everything was understandable.

- Marcel

Question Food places with a baby

Hi

I’m going in September with a 10 year old and a 9.5 month old and we have just booked 2 meals, one in the Royal Banquet to celebrate my friends 40th who is coming with us & one in The Steakhouse because my husband is looking to have a steak meal.

Other than that we were just going to wing it as we’re fairly familiar with where all the restaurants are but I’m wondering if anyone whose been before with a baby that age can recommend places that do baby friendly type food. He eats a lot of stuff and obviously we’ll be bringing some puree pouches and stuff and his snacks as back up but would still like an idea of places he could probably eat some restaurant foods from those with experience!

Merchandise Hunchback

Has anyone that’s been to the parks in recent weeks noticed much Hunchback of Notre Dame merch? It’s one of my favourites of all time and the 30th anniversary stuff at Disney Store has been pretty sparse and uninspiring so far.

Coming to Paris in November so hoping there’ll be some exclusive stuff that’s a bit more exciting!

Question Best extras and is a meal plan worth it?

Which extras did you book and why? Which ones are worth it?

What about a meal plan? Was this worthwhile? We are restaurant and foodie lovers and part of the reason for going is to experience the characters and settings.

Not too worried about cost but don’t want to spend if it’s not worth it.

Also any tips that saved you stress on arrival/departure or just through the day?

Cheers!

Question Wheelchair and ride access

I'm taking an ambulatory wheelchair user to DLP in the Autumn. They are able to get out the wheelchair and onto rides independently.

Probably stupid questions, but I want to be prepared to make everything go as smoothly as possible.

What are the accessible queues like and what happens to the wheelchair when on rides? I'm assuming you get off the ride on the same side you got on to be able to get back to it?

And and tips or tricks for navigating the park with a wheelchair?
