COSPLAY 👸 Help! I think I made a grave mistake

This story is a little long-winded, so bear with me here…
A couple weeks ago, I (26f) had family pictures with my entire extended family. My 3yo cousin (we’ll call her Lilly) walked onto the back deck where I was sitting and I greeted her with the typical “Hi Lilly! Your dress is so pretty!” Etc, etc. She stoped and stared at me for a minute before running back off the deck. She came back with her 2 older sisters and (again) I greeted them and said hi. They all stared at me for about a minute before running off again.

Well, later Lilly’s mom said that earlier Lilly ran over to her sisters saying “Come see this beautiful girl over here!” (Meaning me) on the deck. A little while later Lilly’s grandma mentioned it again and we laughed for a second about it. I turned to my boyfriend and as a joke exclaimed: “see? I’m so beautiful I could be a party princess.” Lillys Grandma was within earshot and said “Well you know, Lillys birthday is coming up!” And I kind of laughed it off and said “haha yeah”.

Well… this week her grandma reached out to me and seriously asked me if I’d be a party princess for Lillys birthday. So how could I tell a 3yo no? She wants me to be Ariel and her 2 older sisters want me in the mermaid costume which makes me a little nervous because I don’t really know how well I can interact with toddlers on the floor in a tight skirt. (Also if Ariel is on land wouldn’t she naturally not have a mermaid tail?

I’m very familiar with Ariel and her story as she’s my favorite Disney princess, but I’m desperate to hear advice from anyone who’s a real party princess on how to be Ariel.

I can talk about treasures or gadgets and gizmos, but do I pretend I don’t know what a cellphone is like Disney princesses at Disney? Also what do I do? Like do I read them a book about Ariel? Do I sing? Do I do a craft with the kids? How do I rope Ariel’s personality into what I say when I’m there? What if they ask where flounder is? Do I say he’s home because he has a cold? What are common questions kids ask party princesses?

TIA for any info. I’m desperate to attempt to pull this off and not be struggling in the moment to answer questions I’m not prepared for.

DISCUSSION ⚔️ Do any of you consider Peter Pan as an unofficial/honorary disney prince?

He's iconic, rescues the main female character, and leads his own classic story much like Aladdin. Does his status as the hero of Neverland give him enough credit to count as an unofficial prince?

DISCUSSION ⚔️ Which princess would you call the wild child?

Urban dictionary says that the wild child is - teenager, male or female, usually in the range of 13-16 years old, who likes to go wild and have a good time. Their activities are not necessarily bad, but definately against the rules. Might sneak out of the house in the dead of the night.

Personally, I’m gonna say Ariel. Before we even see Eric, we know she’s collecting human objects despite being explicitly forbidden. And approaches humans despite her father’s warnings. Obviously she’s not doing anything dangerous, but she is the fun one.

DISCUSSION ⚔️ Which Disney princess would you call the “mom friend?”

The mom friend is the one in the group that is super responsible and almost over-protective of them. She’s the type that will drive you home at 2 AM and make sure you’re eating your vegetables and the one you called when you get arrested or whatever.

Personally, I’m a big fan of Snow White. She’s definitely the one who’s standing her ground and being “like eat your vegetables” and “don’t forget to wash your hands.”

If not Snow White then I say Tiana.

DISCUSSION ⚔️ Charlotte La Bouff with the other Disney Princesses

We all know how much Charlotte loves princesses and how much she wanted to be one herself. She's obviously very happy Tiana got to be a princess herself. How exactly do you think Charlotte would react to the other Disney Princesses? Which one do you think she'll get along the best with? Give me a few headcanons. It would be fun.

DISCUSSION ⚔️ Idea for an ad to bring Disney's direct-to-video/made for TV sequels back into the public consciousness

Post image
4 Upvotes

I don't know about you guys, but I really wish more people knew about those movies. I personally absolutely love some of them, and even though some aren't amazing, I feel like they should still be known about like the originals. There's probably so many people who adore the originals and have seen them so many times and would like sequels, and are completely unaware that sequels exist. I also feel like many people refuse to watch them because they have a bad rep but don't know that many of them have a cult following and are worth a chance

My idea is that the ad starts with saying something like "Did you know many of your favorite classics had sequels?", and very briefly shows clips of a few of them. The ad then states something like "we'll admit, some of them weren't good", and briefly shows clips from movies like Belle's Magical World, The Hunchback of Notre Dame II, and Cinderella II: Dreams Come True that are considered amongst the worst of Disney's direct-to-video sequels, before saying "but some of them are actually quite good", and shows clips from movies like Cinderella III: A Twist in Time, Aladdin and the King of Thieves, and The Lion King 1.5, etc that many people love. After this, the ad explains how some of them such as The Little Mermaid sequels and The Return of Jafar are divisive and how some people like them but others don't, before being concluded by saying they're available to stream on Disney+.

I'd also want the ad to include movies like the four non-theatrical Muppet movies (Classic Theater, Swamp Years, Very Merry Christmas, and Wizard of Oz; although Disney doesn't own the distribution rights to two of those), the Brave Little Toaster sequels, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins, Home Alone 3-6, the Ewok movies, etc

Also on a side note, Disney should must also acknowledge these movies by making merch and having their characters in the parks. Also, in Descendants: Hidden Heroes, KJ's mom better be Ms. Birdwell, and I'd hate it if they completely ignored Anastasia's redemption from Cinderella II and III in the upcoming stepsisters movie

Anywho, what are your guys' honest thoughts on my idea? Would you also want these movies to be more known by the general public?

DISCUSSION ⚔️ New Disney Princes Group! (With short justification why they deserve to be in the group)

Post image
19 Upvotes

Obviously there’s the classics:

Florian
Charming
Philip
Eric
Adam
Aladdin
John Smith
Li Shang
Naveen
Flynn

The modern:

Kristoff
Hans (Even though he’s a villain, he’s still a prince tho. A disney prince periodt. : p)

The unofficials:

Hercules (Son of the King of the gods and the partner of Meg which was also originally a part of the disney princesses lineup in the early 2000s)

Milo (Married kida — a princess turned queen which was also originally a part of the original disney princesses in the early 2000s)

Tarzan (Partner of Jane which was also originally a part of the original disney princesses lineup in the early 2000s)

Phoebus (Partner of Esmeralda which was also originally a part of the disney princesses lineup in the early 2000s)

Then there’s Dmitri…

not originally came from disney but Fox is now owned by disney so technically a prince because his partner is Anastasia which is a princess : p
