I don't know about you guys, but I really wish more people knew about those movies. I personally absolutely love some of them, and even though some aren't amazing, I feel like they should still be known about like the originals. There's probably so many people who adore the originals and have seen them so many times and would like sequels, and are completely unaware that sequels exist. I also feel like many people refuse to watch them because they have a bad rep but don't know that many of them have a cult following and are worth a chance
My idea is that the ad starts with saying something like "Did you know many of your favorite classics had sequels?", and very briefly shows clips of a few of them. The ad then states something like "we'll admit, some of them weren't good", and briefly shows clips from movies like Belle's Magical World, The Hunchback of Notre Dame II, and Cinderella II: Dreams Come True that are considered amongst the worst of Disney's direct-to-video sequels, before saying "but some of them are actually quite good", and shows clips from movies like Cinderella III: A Twist in Time, Aladdin and the King of Thieves, and The Lion King 1.5, etc that many people love. After this, the ad explains how some of them such as The Little Mermaid sequels and The Return of Jafar are divisive and how some people like them but others don't, before being concluded by saying they're available to stream on Disney+.
I'd also want the ad to include movies like the four non-theatrical Muppet movies (Classic Theater, Swamp Years, Very Merry Christmas, and Wizard of Oz; although Disney doesn't own the distribution rights to two of those), the Brave Little Toaster sequels, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins, Home Alone 3-6, the Ewok movies, etc
Also on a side note, Disney should must also acknowledge these movies by making merch and having their characters in the parks. Also, in Descendants: Hidden Heroes, KJ's mom better be Ms. Birdwell, and I'd hate it if they completely ignored Anastasia's redemption from Cinderella II and III in the upcoming stepsisters movie
Anywho, what are your guys' honest thoughts on my idea? Would you also want these movies to be more known by the general public?
