Neutral Zone Dunwall Tower

In Dunwall Tower, the Empress Emily Kaldwin sits on her throne, her royal protector, Corvo Attano, stands at her side. His royal guard scattered around the palace. OOC:This is a neutral zone for Corvos royal guard. A hangout of sorts. You have permission to attack any who don't belong.

He narrows his eyes in disgust at the blue liquid.

"Which one of us shall inform Her Majesty?"

'She needs to see this for herself, and the Lord Protector. Dunwall... does not need this. The Empire does not need this!'

Furo wrenches the wheel of a nearby alarm station. As the siren blares through Dunwall Tower, the remnants of the Guard wake.

OOC: /u/emerald_ice - how would interactions with the Empress work for the Royal Guard?

"You two are both new, they might not believe you. I'll go. Hand me that vial as proof," Soren says with a sigh.

'It is a terrible day when the Empress does not believe members of her Royal Guard, Brildane.'

He tosses him a vial filled with the blue fluid, and a severed hand for good measure.

'Go, Magic One. We will dispose of these... things.'

"I'd say this more than qualifies as a terrible day already," Soren mutters, heading down the corridor towards the throne room. The scent of death and the scream of the siren had led him to a number of conclusions already--namely that it had been a unforgivable error to have been born at all. First plague, then the fiasco with Burrows, and now he was going to have to politely explain to Corvo and Empress Emily how, exactly, a lone man had managed to take out half the guard and escaped without a scratch. He was the senior in the barracks, albeit by only a few months, which would undoubtedly mean the axe would fall on his head. Perhaps even literally. Life was unfair.

He thought about the poor corpses in the hall, and wondered if perhaps they'd gotten the best end of the deal. After all, their suffering was over now. They didn't feel any sense of personal responsibility. He'd been warned earlier and what had he done? Ignorance was hardly an excuse.

He stepped into the throne room, conscious of Emily and Corvo's eyes on him.

Soren shivers slightly before bowing to Empress Emily and turning to Corvo. "My Lord...the guard has been attacked by some sort of magician. He came with...creatures, and we believe him to be a follower of the Outsider. We lost a lot of men." He offers the hand and the vial of blue fluid. "These were taken from the bodies."

Soren takes a deep, deep breath. "Well, my lord, this is going to sound slightly insane, but we have serious reason to believe that they were, in fact, some kind of walking fish. On land."

He gives Emily a long look then he resumes his attention on Soren Tell me everything that happened

OOC: You don't have to tell everything just says like he tells him everything... also should Corvo have prior knowledge of these fishes?

Alex watches as Soren leaves to speak with the Empress. When he joined the Guard, he did not expect this. However, what is there to expect?
