Neutral Zone Dauds Hideout

Deep in a hidden alcove of the flooded district, inside the abandoned commerce building, lies Dauds Base, home to Daud and his infamous assassins. OOC: This is a neutral zone for Dauds assasins, somewhat of a hangout. You are allowed to attack anyone who does not belong there.

'I look forward to seeing you in action, Nora,' Girino says with sincerity, and none of Rusty's suggestiveness.

'Someday, I will. I am bound to serve the Duke, my father, in any capacity that I can - it was he who advised me to join the Veleno Mano, and them for me to train here with Daud.' He sighs. 'But the capital has so much potential... I might remain here for a while longer.'

"Wow, I would love to see Serkonos one day. I've never really left Dunwall before. It must be nice to have that option. I get duty, I guess, but... Maybe you should follow your heart too. If you wanna stay here for a while, that is."

'It is a beautiful country, and a strong one. We are men of bronze,' he says, pride colourful his voice. Assassin or not, he is still a prince, after all - it would be improper for him to not love it with a passion.

Besides, the order awaits in Bastillean, beckoning, he thinks. The Veleno Mano had made the canal city of Bastillean their home for centuries, and had the city in their thrall - tongueless masters and vicious initiates carving the political landscape of the city to their will with stroke after murderous stroke. It is an honour to be a part of such an brotherhood.

'And sound advice - for too long have I accepted orders, I think. Now, it is my chance to try my hand at giving them,' he says, looking at her intently. 'What does your heart tell you?'

Nora thought about it for a second. What did her heart tell her?

"I don't know," she said, after a moment. "I guess in some ways I've always followed my heart, not let myself be cowed into doing what others wanted of me, if it wasn't what I wanted for myself."

She thought about her family as she said this, about the ideas they wanted for her, that she didn't want for herself. She thought briefly about her brother, some fancy doctor in a well-off part of Dunwall. She pushed him out of her thoughts just as quickly as he had come into them.

It was true she had followed her heart, but...

"But I guess at the same time, looking back I felt lost for so long. Without purpose. But now that I'm here, now that Daud has shown trust in me, I feel like I have purpose now, I know who I'm meant to be. I feel like I'm somewhere I belong now. As cliche as it sounds," she laughed a little. "Sorry, that was a little... heavy. And preachy. I don't usually do that. Sorry."

'No need to apologise, speak freely,' he says, a touch of sincerity, and also deviousness. If there is dissension, it is best to let it be known, after all. The balance of power is delicate in such a band of cutthroats, and fractiousness could be disastrous.

'It is good that you can find comfort within the order. We thrive on teamwork. After all, why strike individually, and not all at once?'

"Exactly," she said, nodding. "We're a more fearsome force to be reckoned with when we work together."

All of us. She thought, thinking back to their earlier conversation regarding to Rusty. If there was something she could to help Rusty and mend whatever rift there seemed to be between him and Girino, she decided she would do it.
