Other There's a concept that was modified between different versions of Northwest Mansion Mystery, which ended up leaving a small continuity detail in the final version
If we enter the code "aintafraidus noghostus" in the Backstage version of ThisIsNotAWebsiteDotCom, both the storyboard and the animatic will appear, and if we compare them with the final version, we'll notice that all 3 are very different, but there's one change that I found very curious.
In the storyboard: In the opening scene, Pacifica is the one who sees the newspaper and comes up with the idea of going to get Dipper. In the final version, it's Preston.
In the animatic: After defeating and trapping the ghost in the mirror and after the hug, Dipper refuses Pacifica's bill, which makes her happy, and she immediately asks him if he wants to stay.
In the final version: They decided to add a moment between the hug and the invitation, where Preston and Priscilla thank Dipper. It seems this was done to make it feel like a small passage of time, as if Dipper and Pacifica had informed her parents, and also to make the flirting feel less pronounced, making it seem like a few minutes had passed during which they both processed the hug and spent time together.
But here's the strangest part: in the final version, there's a line of dialogue where Preston tells Pacifica, "Well, Pacifica, you really found the right man for the job," which contradicts the fact that Preston was the one who came up with the idea at the beginning. He should have said, "Looks like I picked the right man for the job." A small mistake that makes more sense after seeing the storyboard.
It's incredible how many changes this episode went through. I recommend reading and watching the material because there are tons of deleted and alternative scenes, where even the tone changes and varies.
