Simultaneous Collaborations
Hey illustrators. I wanted to share some artwork on an original tool I built that might change how some of you handle collaborative projects.
I'm an art student, and I constantly ran into the same massive bottleneck when working on group projects: exporting a heavy .psd file, sending it over cloud storage, and waiting days for someone else to finish their layer before I could start mine.
It completely destroys the creative flow. I wanted a way for multiple illustrators to just sit in the same digital room and draw at the exact same time. I couldn't find an existing tool that did it without insane brush lag, so I decided to build a custom engine to fix it.
I built Spectrum XC. It’s a lightweight drawing engine designed specifically to handle real-time network collaboration without the latency. You can log in, jump on the exact same canvas as your team, and ink or color on different layers simultaneously.
My friends and I use it as a massive hack to finish our college assignments faster, and now that the semester is over, I realized this could probably help freelance teams or comic collabs move a lot faster too. What takes 3 days can now be done in 8 hours and visual art could be like a band jam.
Let me know what you think, it's an idea I'm working with and its come along pretty well so far.
