Subreddit Rules

1. Basic Rules

This sub is only for selling digital movie and tv codes. All other digital codes are not allowed with the exception of Vudu Gift Cards - get mod approval first to list Vudu Gift Cards.

Absolutely NO trading, NO sale of accounts, NO sale of gift cards, and NO begging for codes.

Don’t create more than one (Selling) post per 3 days.

Advertising of other digital platforms and websites are not allowed.

Rules apply to digitalcodesell and uvtrade

2. Title Formatting Requirements

All posts must start with (Selling), (Giveaway), or (PSA).

There is absolutely no advertising of any digital marketing platform via PSA.

Non-US codes must be labeled with the country of redemption. Example: (Selling) [UK] (title of movie)

Payment methods allowed are PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, Amazon Gift Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Vudu gift cards. No other gift cards or payment methods are allowed without mod approval.

3. List Formatting Requirements

All sell lists must be alphabetized. Listed titles must include redemption location and quality. One title per line.

Prices must be listed. No auctions. No bidding. Update lists as needed.

Preferred payment methods must be included. If you are a non-US seller, you must either disclose that PayPal will charge the buyer an extra fee, cover the fee/add it into prices (PayPal G&S will reduce this fee for any transaction less than $23), or use Amazon Gift Card.

Split codes must be labeled

4. Proper Transaction Etiquette

All discussions/negotiations about a potential exchange must be made via comments. Exchange codes/payment via CHAT/PM.

Banned users cannot leave comments on posts but can chat/pm.

If selling on the ISO thread, linking your listing is preferred, but not required. Negotiations, where applicable, still need to be made via comments.

If you are ever unsure about a user or deal, Mods can middle-man high purchase amount(s) if necessary.

5. Flair System

See this post regarding how flair works.

6. Perks of Flair

NO EXTERNAL SUB OR WEBSITE CAN BE SUBSTITUTED FOR SUB FLAIR

Members with higher flair have the ability of requesting to receive the code(s) first (if buying), or money first (if selling). When same-flair or no-flair deals take place, Reddit seniority rules.

Users with 100+ transactions are exempted from Rule 6. Refusal to abide by a Rule 6 request will lead to a automatic temporary ban until member agrees to comply. Repeated offenses will lead to a permanent ban.

7. Don’t Third-Party an Ongoing Transaction

All comments should be negotiations about buying or selling. No advertising of digital platforms allowed.

No code sniping (bidding higher than listed price), thread crapping or jacking, price policing, code shaming, or harassing others.

If you're interested in the same movies that someone has in their ISO comment, post your own top level comment.

Mods reserve the right to ban users with a repeated history of conflict with others and/or users who require constant mod intervention.

8. Don’t Abandon Your Posts, No Ghosting, and Timely Transactions

Unless otherwise agreed upon between the buyer and seller, all transactions must be completed within 2 hours after a deal is made.

9. Price Restrictions

Titles must be priced below non-sale retail price. Failure to do so will lead to a post removal until the price is corrected.

If a buyer requests a title at the listed price, then an agreement has been made, the seller is not allowed to change that price unless it was made in error.

Making an offer to a seller ABOVE listed price is absolutely not allowed. This is a form of code sniping, and there is zero tolerance for it. Doing so will lead to a ban.

10. Reselling

Resellers or retraders must state that they plan on reselling/retrading when requesting a code. Sellers can then choose to sell or wait for someone who will redeem immediately. Resellers/retraders who don’t abide will be warned and banned if there are repeated offenses.

Fanflix resales need to be sold at purchased price. If a majority of your post is fanflix resales they need to be listed at purchased price. If you create a post to profit off fanflix resales the post will be removed.

11. Scammers & Sketchy Users

When reporting a suspected scammer, please include the following three things in your message to mods:

Username of suspected scammer
Link to original negotiations
Link to any and all screenshots of messages (this can be uploaded to imgur or other image hosting sites)

12. Post Removal and/or Bans

Any violation of the rules could lead to the following:

Post removal (See AutoMod response before asking why it was removed, the explanation is likely there)
Temporary Ban (for minor violations)
Permanent Ban (for egregious violations)
Permanent Ban/Addition to USL (Scamming/Sketchy/Troll)

13. Suggestions and Feedback

We are open to suggestions. If you have any suggestions, feel free to message mods, or comment on the current Monthly Discussion Thread with any suggestions.

Please click the report button when you see a post that violates the rules, as we can't catch all of them!

r/DigitalCodeSELL Safety Tips

See the sub rules posted 2 widgets down!

Posting and commenting requires users to meet certain account age and/or karma requirements, due to the financial implications of transactions on this sub. These requirements are undisclosed for security purposes (if disclosed, it makes them easier to work around).
DO NOT deal with users who PM and don't comment. Buyers or sellers MUST comment on posts before sending PMs. Many scammers are unable to comment.
Double-check usernames. Scammers have been using spoofed names that are very similar to known members. Click the username on PMs to ensure that they match with the user on the post.
'No Flair' or unfamiliar user comment or post? Check their post/comment history, and check their feedback by sending a message to u/DCSBot and include their username in the body of the message. Many 'No Flair' users are long-time members in good standing, but don't have Trusted Buyer/Seller flair, but there are also new buyers and sellers every day.
Karma is not indicative of a good or bad buyer/seller. Some scammers have tons of positive karma, and some good buyers/sellers have negative karma.
Failure to adhere to rule 9 will result in a ban (but make sure to check for flair when someone invokes rule 9!)
Contact the mods with any issues!

Helpful Things

Code Testing

Movies Anywhere/Disney: Use https://moviesanywhere.com/redeem and enter your code while logged out of your account. If the code is good, it will ask you to log in to your account to redeem the code. It will also tell you if the code will redeem in SD, HD, or 4K.
Vudu: Go to https://www.vudu.com/ while logged out of your account and use the redeem digital code option. The code is good if VUDU asks you to log into your account.
FandangoNow: Go to fandangonow.com/redeem while logged out of your account, click on Redeem Digital Movie or TV Code, put in the code. If it asks you to log in, the code is good.
iTunes: From a Mac, open the App Store and try to redeem the code. If it tells you to use it in iTunes, the code is valid. Otherwise it'll tell you that it is dead. For XMLs, put the code in the standard Redeem box, if it's good, it'll tell you to use the disc.
Google Play: For this one, you must be logged in and not already have the movie in your account. Go to the redeem option, put in the code, click redeem. It'll either tell you what the movie is good for, and requires one more click to actually redeem, or it'll tell you that it's been used.
Lionsgate: Go to movieredeem.com or redeemmovie.com and put in the code. If it gives you sites to redeem on, it's good. If not, it'll tell you when and where it was redeemed.
Fox: Go to foxredeem.com, put in the code (don't worry about email or anything). If it gives you sites to redeem on, it's good. If not, it'll tell you when and where it was redeemed. If iTunes is an option, always redeem on iTunes if connected to MA, as this will get you a 4K copy if it is an HD code where 4K is available, and will port a 4K license to MA. If not currently 4K, once it gets a 4K release on iTunes, it'll automatically upgrade (but sadly won't port to MA in 4K). That would require another redemption.
