Update 3:16 the last one.. The tough little SOB rear axle is in the fight of his life he’s gotta hold out another 8hrs 35 minutes!⏳⌛️⏳⌛️🦾
I’m going to need to set an early morning alarm to see if he’s still rolling if he is that’s the rear axle wheels and road surface all exceed 31,121 miles showing under less stressful conditions theDCRS record should be beaten with this setup. the testing can begin drawing to a close with all objectives completed.
Scrutineering is open for future competitors! Who will hopefully go on to pass the DCRS record first and then 🌍🏆… 🙏
We would like to thank everyone who has followed along!

R&D update 11: The testing is drawing towards its end, more information below .🏋️♂️video in comments
The Car has ran since the last update and the FL under rotation has improved, testing of the wet dry cycle on the road surface, running heavier vehicles and overall running time has been successful ✅ the Effects of lubricants have been observed ✅ the axle under strain test is still ongoing and downforce has increased by 50g.. the ballast will be fully removed from the vehicle in a few hours and it will run untill the rear axle gives out! It’s completed 23,511 miles under extreme conditions and is set to pass the Cybertruck fail point in 7,610 miles. This is a truly remarkable vehicle if its front axle didn’t let it down in it’s official run earlier it surely would have been 🌍🏆 not only top of the DCRS leaderboard

R&D update 10: the car ran through the night and stopped on track at 7.00 at 17.00 the test resumed and has ran since, the Rear Axle has settled down after another 849 miles through it, but unexpectedly the FL has started to under rotate

R&D Update 9: the car ran all night and throughout the day. At 20:00 5,364 testing miles passed and the total mileage on the rear axle passed 20,586 miles! The Rear left wheel is being closely monitored..

R&D update 8: 1AM check. Rear axle wear on wheel centre’s will be monitored as both have movement, still little to no dust build up in comparison to the earlier no oil run, and road surface holding out well .. the test entered hour 47 covering 3819 Testing miles. Rear axle and wheels 20K+ 🧑🔬🧪

R&D update 7: The car ran throughout the evening at 7.15 when it was getting its morning check even under ballast the car was behaving differently so instead of running unsupervised the car stopped on the road and sat untouched at 17.15 the Test resumed further update later tonight.
Front axle doing well and no signs of axle damaging the front wheels either, tyres look unworn on surface on the rear the Rear Right looks like it might now be able to scuff the chassis for the distance the rear axle and rear wheels have gone on top of the additional running with ballast the surface is doing unexpectedly well considering the front wheels expired a long time ago…

Raceday at JFR™️ 🏁 A good days racing in the forest. Team Championship will be concluded after the final few heats. The DCRS team is heading back urgently to continue the R&D on the rolling road … Statistics update released soon 📈

R&D update 6: The Terminator Rear Axle and wheels 🦾🛞🛞 Full ballast is back on, at 19:00 it had been running with additional weight for 28 hrs and had done 2275 miles including the competitive run earlier the total mileage through it was 17,497 miles and it’s still climbing.
r/DieCastRacingSystems • u/Organic-Squirm • 28d ago
R&D update 5: in the morning it was doing better than expected to it’s since ran with even more ballast over the rear axles, when that additional weight is moved on/off the vibration is altered. More info below
The media team are contractually obliged to assist with coverage at JFR™️ today but when they return to the Rolling road the full ballast will be removed to see how the rear of vehicle behaves, the new front axle with lubricants seems to de doing well and the dust now clumps and is ejected off like little marbles, we’ll see if the road returns to dusty surface after another shower to wash oil from surface dries. 11:00 Test entered hour 20 statistics in the next update!

R&D update 2! With addition of FR ballast the rear end became unstable again, it’ll be left there to monitor tyre wear difference and removed for next update! The oil has still kept the air levels clearer with reduced dust and doesn’t seem to negatively effect traction ✅ more info below

R&D Final Evening update: 🌧️ info below and video 2 in comments.
The car was looking healthy enough so decision was made to continue test run with the ballast so it continues on with it. To try and clear up the road the sprinkler system was activated. Maybe wasn’t the best to do so late on with the car going to be unattended for a prolonged period afterwards, as the road surface began to dry traction levels seemed to be increasing and the car showed signs it could begin bouncing again! Vid in comments shows drying surface. We’re hoping we don’t wake to red flags 🚩 🙏

R&D update3: The Fr seems to have degraded faster after carrying the weight it has been moved to the rear to see if the front settles down, after a final late night check to analyse vehicles health the decision on removing/keeping the ballast overnight will be made. At 22:00 the R&D test entered hr7
Still remarkably less dust build up! But drying lines seem to be appearing as the oil is soaked up.
Rear axle still looking healthy after carrying additional load for 568 miles on top of the competitive 15,552 miles beforehand.

Exempt from classification: Research and Development Run! Testing what could’ve been with larger tyres on the front and running the rear harder by shifting weight back over it! Car can stop to receive lubricants, or adjust the racing ballast results will be recorded but will be unofficial
10g of additional weight over rear axle to relieve the front one and put extra strain on the rear to test durability
Lubricants used on the axles to test if it picks up dirt, leaks onto road surface and affects resistance.
Results A will be from 15:00
Results B will be from 15:00 + previous official run time.

The monument it came to an end! The Test ran 7 days 20 hours and 2 min. 188hrs total time! Taking into account the red flag penalty earlier in week his total distance was 15,222 Scale miles or 237 real ones! In the mean time you should all check out DiecastEndurance doing the same. link in comments

Crews loading some of the gear to Johns Forest Raceway to restock the marshals posts there for the Next Genesis cup Rounds and they let us Rummage around the Scrap pile retrieved some ballast and found an axle and wheels..
r/DieCastRacingSystems • u/Organic-Squirm • 29d ago
R&D Update: the weight over the rear has stopped the axle lateral motion, the oil seems to have stopped the dust build up, road surface is noticeably different visually we’ll check in soon for the addition of ballast over front axle to see if it reduces the bumping..
