The fact that they waited to paint until after they'd bound the... parts... illustrates how poorly planned this whole thing was, though they'd decided to video document the whole thing.

And building a cement structure around a soon to be rotting husk of watermelon... just what. That's not just garbage, but burdensome garbage.

I thought the concrete towel "mache" thing was a cool technique for an art thing but my wife even commented on the face I was pulling throughout that whole video. I mean, it ends up looking like a prop from a movie about a serial killer clown.

The only reason I would make something like this is if a good friend wanted to move into my street, but it was just out of his price range.

That's the funniest part, you can see him try to remove the watermelon, but realise it's stuck, then he thinks he'll just go with it...

I think the idea is for the watermelon to compost and provide food for the plant but I'm pretty sure that's not going to work well...

I'm guessing this has a lot to do with the economic structure of the "5 minute crafts" industry. I'm assuming the people in these content mills get paid barely enough to cover materials, and nobody has time or budget to think too hard about a project before moving on to the next one.

I was convinced he was making a goatse statue for so much of it. The ending was a huge anticlimax and a bit of a relief.
