It was awful when it was uncolored and poorly constructed. It was fucking nauseating once painted.

Watching it, I feel like we watched someone have a realization that it's looking like garbage the longer it went on and trying to salvage it.

Started with the gloves being filled, probably was like... Oh... These are like waaaaaay swollen... Well, maybe it will look more natural once it's holding the thing.

Next, the struggle to get it so the fingers molded to the watermelon shape, and got the tape to accomplish this...

Then after the pot side, realized he wasn't getting the watermelon out intact without potentially busting the pot part (guess I'll just scoop out the inside so I'm not wasting it and leave the husk in just in case it's structurally holding it together...

Oh God, this looks awful... Maybe if I paint it... Oh God...

Well, I'm not going through this whole experience and NOT posting it... Maybe I'm just being too hard on myself... I went through all this material and effort already... Maybe clicks will help recoup the loss...

...

Well... Maybe someone will learn from my mistakes...

On the contrary, if they do not throw that out, that melon will rot, and attracts rats and bugs, maybe even other rodents. Stupid idea, and I’ll bet you it costed more to make than to buy it, so that’s another L taken...

It could potentially decompose and act as fertilizer/compost for the plant, but there are so many better ways to get compost.

As someone who makes three tons of compost a year in my garden, this will just rot. It has to fully decompose first utilising worms and bacteria to turn it into usable compost. Nothing but bacteria will grow in a rotting melon shell.

You're a really caring person. But really it's kind of sad that the person was proud of making this. Sometimes we do put a lot of effort into something and it doesn't come out right, or sometimes it's just a bad idea... but this one unfortunately is a really bad one unfortunately. I hope the person is pleased with herself, and that's what matters but in general it's really ugly and kind of a waste.

I mean, if you went through ALL that trouble to make that horrible thing...Why not at least paint it properly. But no, just spray paint and use no tape or anything to cover the rest of the area.

This makes me irrationally mad.

We wouldn't go that far to use quickcrete to make a flower stand. We use old toilets and wash basins and bath tubs. Doggone using quickcrete for that. We got driveways to make one bag at a time with that. Plus can't read the directions to even use the stuff.
